Lets face it ! it was hard to get out of bed this morning, but boy am I glad I did ! !
all these benefits when you swim at Manly and they are totally free…..
“Seawater contains vital elements, vitamins, mineral salts, trace elements, amino acids and living microorganisms that can produce antibiotic and antibacterial effects to help promote a healthy immune system. “
A few Jimbles were around for the 6.30 swimmers, But I didn’t see any @ 7am swim
“Reportedly, the components of seawater, similar to human blood plasma, are easily absorbed and utilized by your body while swimming. Inhaling a sea mist filled with negatively charged ions, or molecules that attach to your lungs also boosts your immune system.”
A few of the Drinksy 6.30 people as well as some of the Balmoral Beach Club members
who like a “real” swim.
“In addition, proponents claim that swimming in seawater opens pores in the skin to allow the absorption of sea minerals and the expulsion of disease-causing toxins from the body.”
Ian told me that there were 80 swimmers today, not quite sure he is right ! but more than I expected. No Newbies !
Peter normally swims with me at Balmoral on Sundays !
but has been coming down for a swim with us lately , as well as having brekky afterwards.
Nearly time to dump the wetsuit Martin, although today is not the day.
Two of the happiest guys you will ever want to meet Rainer & Derek.
What blog would be complete without a picture of Jane, who swims all year without a wetsuit.
Staying safe
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. Also, if you have a bit more experience, keep an eye out for new swimmers who might need company. Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf. To read, or even download, click here.
I happen to know this was Ian Forster as he nearly bumped into me.
also another one at the point on the way back was Lisa Boyle.
Hard to get a shot of Michelle Sparkles, she is a mighty quick swimmer.
Water temp was 18.1 , but much colder getting in and out due to all the rain.

The sky had that grey “lead” type of look this morning, with a bit od rain>
Linda and Tim are keen and happy to put together a calendar for B&B again for 2016 😄

great blog. Did anyone see the water spouts or sea tornados at 7 or so this morning off Queenscliff. Now apart from being crashed by waves I can worry about being swept up in one of those! I love the photos of swimmers in action – it is just like my evening youtube viewing.

If you mean that remote controlled turtle, Sharnie has been operating it by the shore for a while now, pretending to send it up next to people to get air, I thought you knew !
