Important information distributed

more amazing swimmers joined the crowd

At Shelly Beach, a further exclusive look at the Eastern suburbs (halo over Mark because he does not tick every swim!)

and then off they went into the sun

and after giving the others a head start, Ian was ready to go

BIG thanks to management for arranging a special ceremony to mark this solemn occasion.

Yes Shelly, WOW!!
….. a blog supreme: recording a most special B and B swim.
Awesome speeches and magnificent buglery; Greg, that was a knock-out last post and reveille with breaking waves adding a unique backing – particularly poignant for me as my namesake grandfather who died a week after returning home from WW1, a 28 yr old who spent most of his married life in the trenches in France, was a bugler too.
Plenty of great photos to record the event.
The swim was about as good as it gets (except for water clarity).
Thanks to all BnBers who prepared and arranged the ceremony, speeches and the equipment that made it all so professional and memorable.
It was a great morning topped off by the unique scene later at Collaroy Beach of close to 100 surf boats in a wreath laying ceremony.
