153 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
20 swimmers enjoyed a heavenly early Bolderdash up to Queensie and back and were met out in the water by Murray from Sprout Daily, so keep an eye out on Sprout this morning. Anna took a picture of Murray too, so you never know maybe that well be shared as well…
It’s absolutely perfect swimming conditions at the moment with terrific visibility, enhanced by the sun shinning through reflecting off all of our magnificent marine life. There’s so much out there to observe and enjoy right now.
Including unfortunately, a Heineken bottle nestled into the sand which was too far wedged in to be salvaged at that depth.
There was what seemed to be a new fish with a stunning purple tail foraging around at the point. Plus one poor leather-jacket who appeared to have a tumour on his side which didn’t seem to bother him though. They’re not great, but there is a photo of each below.
Some great photos again from a different vantage point courtesy of Stephen this morning, along with one from Michel of Stephen as chief photographer on the rocks yesterday 😉

Jules, the first fish is a blackspot goatfish (Parupeneus spilurus), which is actually very common, especially in the Harbour, but certainly looks much purpler than usual in your photo. The tail fin can be quite blue sometimes. The LJ with a tumour is very strange. I’ll show that to Mark and see what he thinks. Can you email it to me so I can just forward to Mark?

Check out “Sprout daily”.
You really have to wonder about Murray’s taste though don’t you?
I mean there I was a star of stage screen and radio, currently appearing on channel 7 news!! And what does he do?? IGNORES ME and puts up those nobodies!!
Still, any publicity is good publicity I suppose.

I thought it was a fantastic photo of two of the best that B&B have to offer. Those early swimmers certainly are a fit and great looking bunch if those two are anything to go by.

Thanks Jane, I’ve just emailed it to you. Gosh, a goatfish… he looks so different in his purple phase.

It was great to see Julia Baird on ”the Drum’ last night. Julia – I was going to blame you for my going to bed so late and not getting up in time to do Bolderdash – lucky the kids woke me up anyway. Lovely swim today, even if I did “Bolderdash lite”

As I said in what I thought was the stupid blog and really wasnt – swimming with Robin was sheer pooetry.
his golden body swished along in the morning sun, his pink cap catching the rays, his teeth outdoing any coral, shimmering in the splash. His brown eyes rolling in an atavistic trance, the bubbles from his nose like champagne.
I strongly recommend everyone takes it in turns to swim with this adonis of the sea.

That’s not a goatfish, that’s Anna. At her best. In her purple phase

Looks like conditions will be good again tomorrow.
The only change I think will be the wind moving around to the south and the sun will come out a little later than this morning.

Thanks Robin, yes Izzy and I do look amazing in this photo. Not sure why you didn’t include yourself in this mention, though?

Izzy you have captured me so well. Glad I cleaned your goggles this morning so you could see all that.
I was admiring the grace with which you propelled yourself so effortlessly through the water as well.
Thankyou for your kind words – its nice that we can appreciate each others technique.

Anna you know I am nothing if not modest. I prefer not to make to much mention of myself. Thankyou for putting me forward.
