84 Boldelicious swimmers on this lovely Friday morning

…including Captain Feathersword here, aka our very own house salesperson Adam Moore. Nice touch unless it was a bit of a wardrobe malfunction, Adam 🙂 See, this is proof of how bold we are, not letting little goggle details stop us from swimming or smiling.

Of the 84 swimmers, four did an early swim to Queenscliff and back. They were kind enough to send me an early morning photo but the sun wasn’t up yet then so those silhouettes could’ve been anyone. I prefer to show you these two pics above of Gaetan, Roberto, Richard A and Miles.

Last night, social media worldwide was a-buzz! Facebook, Twitter and I think YouTube even were going crazy with details of Fiona’s jimble sting problems. Undeterred by those pesky little stingers (most of which had actually disappeared by this morning, luckily), Fiona donned a full-length rashie and a face that said Come On if ya dare! Midge and David look equally determined to enjoy the morning’s swim.

Look at these bright smiles and all before coffee. Yes these beautiful lasses (Sue, Jenny K, Vicki and Elaine K) are happy because they are about to boldly cross Cabbage Tree Bay. The following pics (above) are some action shots depicting how it should be done.

Our Dutch contingent Sabine made it to Shelly beach, unafraid of the marine life. As you can see in the photo evidence, the sharks in the bay are only the size of two bubbles in total.

Happy faces at Shelly!

Well just look at the grace and technique here! Robert in red, blue and pink, and the other picture is of Nick Dawkins.

Bruce, John and Naoko waiting at the point for a few more friends to join them on a second lap, and why not on a glorious morning like this?
Like a Florence Broadhurst wallpaper design is this lush, green seaweed in pic three above! Shame on whoever let the plastic bag enter the ocean right next to the seaweed, though. John K and I struggled to pull it out from the bottom of the sea as it was weighed down with mutilated body parts, stolen jewellery and bags of coke. Or so we thought. Turned out to be sand, imagine our surprise.

So nice to see Ian ‘the walker’ Miller join us in the ocean this morning.

We had delicious cake coming out of our ears this morning, as we celebrated both Steven Coulter’s and Vicki Harbutt’s birthdays. Look how tasty that carrot cake was!

Elaine had made sparkling raspberry muffins for Vicki, which unfortunately Vicki was forced to share with the rest of the gold lame sofa friends. Yum.

This glamour couple arrived late for coffee. Together. Oh, it’s only John and Attracta, not some famous footballer and his celebrity wife, which I thought at first glance.
The ever smiling manager Linda of Swedish heritage and our most senior B&B participant, Bruce P finish off today’s blog.
As always, I’ve enjoyed doing the blogging for the day. Lesley will be back at the blog desk tomorrow though, thank goodness 🙂
Water temperature: 20.4
Air temperature: Lovely actually

Anna I’m surprised that my jimble stings haven’t been discussed in parliament as yet.
Hoever, I will not be wearing a big fat rashie again, it was like trying to swim in a quilt cover. Horrible. Thank god the swarm has diminished.

Howdy Peeps,
Due to a commitment to swim in Freshwater next weekend a contingent of us are going to explore the wonders of Manly Dam tomorrow. Whilst it has been argued that we are just going there to wee in everyone’s water supply, I would like to very clearly assure you that I have 30,000 litres of rainwater tanks at home and will not be affected by a wee infused water over the next few weeks.
For those of you with a late change of heart wanting to quietly giggle to themselves as your co swimmers sip at their water glasses each morning at Manly Wine, be at Manly Dam at 6:50 am tomorrow as we charge across Manly’s Great Freshwater Lake.
Most importantly Nicolee & Maureen can I put myself down for $10 worth of winning raffle tickets.
