29/04/2012 – Another day in Paradise

29/04/20127

Over 133 Bold and Beautiful Swimmers

18 swimmers did a second lap and I am sure there was an early one with Gaetan coz I saw him at the end!

I should just copy and paste yesterday’s blog because everything was almost the same – as far as conditions are concerned…but for each person I am sure every day is different!

A lovely lovely swim – the water was very clear and warmish about 21.5 but colder out of it – possibly about 14?  Anyway glad we were all up so early to make the most of the sun because it looks like a change is coming on as I write this! To those who slept in, look at what you missed!

Everyone arriving, signing in and catching up with each other, pets secured!

The walk down, new found friends having fun, getting ready for the swim!!

Getting in the water is always a … well you just never know what’s coming! Every day is completely different!!

I see you all waited at the point! really?? 😉

Crystal clear, quick stop at Shelly then it’s off!

Mr Shark – See his eye! Not sure what the next fish are but they were just hovering, not moving at all and last one was just a snorkeler but for a brief moment all I saw was something big, black swimming along!

Found some real Old Wives today!

What’s Jenny K up to?? It’s a Fiddler Ray! Lovely big one too – doesn’t look it in the photo but up close probably over a metre long…. Jenny’s determined to pat him! 😉

A few of us took our time to swim back and enjoy the lovely conditions.

A sand-storm under the sea coming back into the beach – and the rip is still there!

If I miss anything off these blogs please tell me – or write in the comments below! I only see the swim from my perspective but would love people to tell me what they enjoy etc from their swim!

There was another lap to Shelly and back lead by John Bond – if you ever want to do 2 laps there is usually someone going – wait at the point on the way back from Shelly and you should see the others waiting to go.

HOPEFULLY SEE YOU ALLLLLL TOMORROW!!!!

Great swim, best of the day for sure and great blog, Lesley! Love the captions – especially the prayer for “no jimbles”. I heard through the grapevine that a man (who??) was wearing a full wet-suit on Anzac Day, but still copped a nasty sting on his face AND on his head through his pink cap!

Spoke to the corn man, George this morning”… He thinks we all look like penguins heading out for the swim and sardines being chased by dolphins on our way back in! His analogy gave Elaine and I the giggles! What a beautiful morning!

At the risk of revealing myself as total idiot, has anyone seen a lonely pair of ugg boots? I think I left them on thursday.
I went in the south curl curl swim, and it was so different to howit had been at 7am! There I was looking forward to a lovely clear swim and just as we set off the southerly roared in.

George the Sweet corn man remember! He gave me a free chestnut later and made me sit on his lap for a photo! Great to see you again Aly!

Lesley, your blogs are making me SO homesick! Great underwater shots – love the shark giving you the evil eye.
