Over 57 Bold and Beautiful Swimmers!
Another lovely morning! The water still warm at 21.3 – it seems to be going up!! Although there was a definite warm patch in towards Shelly which was very welcome. Air temp was around 14!
A sea of tranquility and colour at the surf club and the walk in!
Waiting at the point – a chance to see what’s underneath!
Visibility is down over deeper water but still clear in the shallower sections!
A quick catch up with each other at Shelly……
The return swim rendezvous – getting ready to catch a wave in! The waves were fun today!
I saw two interesting things on the swim (unfortunately no photographic evidence!) The first was a massive fish swam right past me at Shelly on a mission to somewhere – Slow Ian said it was probably a big Kingfish (A few minutes later I saw more Kingfish chasing the 1000’s of yellow tails just before the point). Below is what they look like (taken from the internet) 😉
And the other thing I saw – 2 huge blue gropers chasing each other! It was spectacular – partly because gropers are usually just floating around but these 2 were flying along!!
If you ever want to see more interesting things (on the return from Shelly) swim along the left side of the point (over the rocks)

Yes, Iain, seriously BOLD! I can quite understood why the other guys were sitting far away:-) Looking forward to more of your tour pics after this great start!

Spent a lot of time making sure I wasn’t seen this morning. Hiding behind my cap and then Jenny! No evidence that I was there because I didn’t tick!!

I enjoyed the swim next to Sarah! Lots of sharks where cruising around.
