33 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
As happy as always, enjoying beautiful water this morning.
What a difference a day makes… The seas have settled down nicely leaving us with a lovely wave that everyone went out through today.

With a calm swim through the bay to follow.

Anyone would think it was cold at Shelly with everyone staying as submerged as possible 😉

A few of us enjoyed the tranquil scenic route back to half way beach

Whilst others enjoyed catching a wave all the way to shore !

It will be calmer still tomorrow with Magic Seaweed predicting conditions as ‘flat’ at Manly on both Friday and Saturday !! A perfect opportunity to come down and rack up a couple of peaceful winter swims.
243 swimmers are currently on track to get their 2012 winter badge, check out who here !!! If you haven’t done a winter swim yet it’s not too late to start, there are still 85 days of winter to go.

Who needs the thrill of the Big Dipper when you have a bank of rollers like to-day! A massive thanks to Steve for sticking by and steering me through the waves with confidence and patience as I found it really scary. The swim to Shelly seemed to take an eternity and it was reassuring to have Steve and Michael nearby. I know we have to take responsibility for our own safety, but it’s good to know that we look out for one another. We are the Bold & Beautiful indeed. See you all again soon for another exciting episode…

Pleasure Jenny, you were fine – it was just a little scary when there were so many in the set that you had to go under broken! Cheers, Stephen

Yep, looked great out there. I was going to go out and join them after the swim, but I forgot to bring my surfboard. Darn!

It is with sadness I am letting you know that our dear friend and most senior swimmer, Bruce Paterson passed away this afternoon, aged 83.
Our thoughts are with all of Bruce’s family and friends at this time as he touched the hearts of so many.

SIP and RIP Bruce. Was lovely meeting you through the B&B, chatting to you at Manly Wine and celebrating your 83rd birthday. You were inspiring, as are many of the wonderful people we get to meet each morning at 7am. Meeting you really made me believe we can do anything we put our mind to!
Thank you Jules, Michael, Lesley, Stephen, John, Ian, Anna and other ‘Helpers’, for giving us the opportunity to experience this amazing swim and get together, young and old, rich and poor, speedy and slow, flippers and flipperless in this most beautiful corner of the Earth.

I will miss Bruce dearly! What a great role model for us younger swimmers. Thanks for the birthday wishes. I missed out in the singing again! I flew to Germany one week ago and will stay another week. Saw the enormous waves and thought about you all! Hugs from Hamburg, madlen
