101 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
Cloudy skies and a calm sea making for a lovely atmospheric swim this morning, with lots of swimmers still only in the pink 🙂

That winter without wetsuit badge has lots to answer for 😉 But there’s nothing like a little wave to get everyone jumping.

There was a beautiful golden glow about everyone at the point this morning too. It must have been a reflection from the whale that was breaching just past the Bower !!

The water viz is clearing after the big seas and there were a couple of whopper flatheads waiting to greet us at Shelly.

A bit of a splash to get us started on the return swim
Before 6 swimmers continued on for a double and others caught the perfect wave
Lara and Michael might be missing their pink caps in this gorgeous photo, taken as they were getting ready to attend Lara’s formal this week, but they are very fond of their pink caps as that’s how they met !! How exciting 🙂
Happy belated 18th birthday for last week too Lara !
Good luck to everyone in the Soft Sand Classic today.
Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow for what looks like will be a superb public holiday swim with a whole one foot of surf, i.e. flat 🙂

Was sorry to miss the group swim at 7, as I had to do a solo at 6.30 and scamper off.
When I got just past the point I was confronted with an enormous shoal of very large fish., Probably kingfish i think, as they were large and dark, all swimming towards me. Hundreds of them.
I realised that whatever was herding them from the other direction was obviously of more concern to them than I was, so i began to feel a bit apprehensive that coming face to face with high order predator at breakfast time might raise my heart rate a bit too much, so it was backstroke to Shelley for me, watching the moon in the sky. Figured the feeding frenzy would be over on the return leg so freestyle back.
I missed you all Very Much. See you tomorrow!

Here’s a good way to learn the song for Bruce’s farewell. Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EUytEX_XkE and listen to “Our Gracie’s” original version.
Oh dear, it does take me back!
