51 Bold & Beautiful swimmers
Race down to the waters edge this morning

where it was sooo much warmer in than out. You only have to see how relaxed Francois is without his wetsuit to know that’s true.

One second it was Lake Manly

The next, well…

Check out the pink in the sky, it must be the reflection from all our caps and cossies

Friday must be work colleague day with Tim, Sam and Jessie all from Goodman’s.

And Nicolee and Jeff from Maui Jim. But of particular note of impressiveness… Jeff comes all the way from Paddington on public transport to swim with us. So that’s a bus to circular quay, the 6.20am ferry and a run down the corso to make it to the water by 7am 🙂 Then he still has a day’s work to look forward to… 😉 Good on you Jeff !!

Patrick stopped mid swim for… a little goggle adjustment maybe ??

And Michelle, well that’s another swim, thankfully for us, still in your wetsuit 🙂

4 swimmers enjoyed their swim up to Queensie and back and 8 enjoyed the same distance but spread over two laps of Shelly and back. Mark came down for the pre-dawn lap but surprisingly had no-one to play with this morning.
Monday will be the first swim of the 7th week of winter… meaning it’s the first possible day to qualify for your 2012 winter badge for those swimmers who have already swum at least 19 swims spread across each week of winter so far. To see who they are click here
Check out our Norwegian contingent, Hilde and Ragnill going for a beautiful sunset swim at 10.45pm (yes that’s PM) in the Trondheim Fjord in ~11 degree water with their pink caps on 🙂 That’s ~11 degrees and it’s mid summer !! Uhmmm… what exactly are we whinging about again 😉

A few people have been asking about the video from Bruce’s ashes on Sun 24th June, so if you haven’t seen it yet you can do so by clicking here

Well, at least it was a lot warmer in the air than in the sea!! Over 20 degrees before and after you have had a very quick swim helps…. The fjord hasnt warmed up up at all this summer, hope it will in a few weeks because it looks soooo inviting!
But yes Julie, you guys in Manly have NOTHING to complain about with your “cold” winter swims!
BTW did you see any wetsuit in the photo?
