This year has been the best year for me. Since joining B&B in September last year my social life has flourished along with a better and more even work life balance. Just on the quiet I prefer the life side a little more than the work side. (don’t worry my husband doesn’t read my blogs so he’ll never know)
Well after a hot one yesterday today’s weather is a little milder bringing some much needed southerly winds and calmer seas. The water temperature was patchy all the way to Shelley and back, not sure if it had something to do with the person I was following.
We have a few celebrations today. Firstly John B has reached the top of the Pacific Challenge and has swum all the way to the tropic of Capricorn. Congrats John.
It was also Lucy’s 30th Birthday today. Happy Birthday Lucy. Hope you have a great day and you know what they say about your thirties.
Taryn was also celebrating her birthday.

and lastly it is also Michael Christie’s birthday today. Happy Birthday Michael from everyone at B&B.
One swimmer and her daughter have come all the way from Paris. She reads the blog every day and has been wanting to swim with us for the last two years, so it’s only fair that she is now part of it. Enjoy swimming with us while you are here on your holiday.

We have a few swimmers bringing along family members today. It’s always nice to bring our families down to meet our extended other family.
Brad, Lucy & her brother Pete
Jane with her son Bruce and LSA.
I didn’t get any underwater shots today as the water wasn’t clear. I am putting together a video, however it’s taking too long to upload for now so I will post it up later on facebook and repost this blog again this afternoon, hopefully with the link. I have now completed the video. See the link below. It’s a long way so take a seat, sit back and enjoy.
I am off on holidays for the next couple of weeks now so I will see you all in the new year and leave you in Rainer & Nick’s capable hands of blogging for me while I am away.
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Have a great weekend. Renae

The water is nice and warm up here in Rockhampton and have avoided any Box Jellyfish so far.
Happy Birthday Lucy and Michael.
Well done to all in the 6k squad this morning, especially the first timers. All finished safe and sound despite the strong southerly on the return leg.

I’ve never heard of that before. They are just songs that I purchased on iTunes. I would have thought that once the songs are embedded in the video that this wouldn’t happen. I’m sorry that you can’t view it. If there is any other way of getting it to you I would.

It is generally 7am. You swim over with the usual crew to Shelly, then come back and meet at the point before taking off towards Curl Curl.
