It was dark enough to perhaps put you off coming down!

The moon was still up!

But the sun soon peeped around the corner!

Just in time for us to go in…and the water was LOVELY and flat …temp was above 20!

A little bit cool going in…

The sun was superb sitting just above the horizon as we waited at the point

Arriving at Shelly…
1 legged pushups!
Absolutely wonderful start to the day!

Last but not least:
Last night on tv was a show on the 1980’s and there was a small segment on the Berlin Wall coming down in 1989. What I didn’t know was at the time David Hasselhoff from Baywatch (AKA The Hoff) was huge in Germany and would be the first international celebrity to go over there after the ‘end of the wall’ and perform. As I watched him sing and talk to the camera I realised there was something very familiar about him…so I did a bit of research and it hit me..
Around that time a very famous Bold and Beautiful swimmer Rainer (AKA The Lips) was about 11 or 12 years old and LIVING in Germany. My guess is The Hoff has a huge influence on The Lips and I wouldn’t be surprised if Lips was a (secret) huge fan!
I went online and looked at various photos from then and now and this is what I found:
The stance, the facial expressions, LOVIN the camera. even being a lifeguard – it’s uncanny!!

Lips, here are some applicable quotes from The Hoff, “Celebrity means means I can effect people in a positive way”‘ “I feel like Elvis only alive”, I’m six foot four, an all-American guy, and handsome and talented as well!”

Oh Lesley. I have no words. Is this because of what I said about you and Mr Insomnia?
Lucky for you, I’m away till next Tuesday. Enough time to work on ideas for my next guest blog. Which, as we all know, is best served cold. Did I say served? I mean posted..

Greetings to all B&B from England in early spring! Just seeing that sea temperature of over 20deg C makes me want to come back to Manly before too long! Especially after some sea swims of 1km or so each on the English south coast near Bournemouth last weekend in sea temperatures just over 9 deg C, without wetsuit, in pink B&B swimwear, followed by the shivers of course!
Keep up the great blogs they really are appreciated on the far side of the world!

Hi Lesley,
Yes it does feel great after 30 minutes of steady sea swimming in 9 deg C, apart from the shivers. It’s much better if it’s warm and sunny when you get out, and last weekend it was (by British standards at least).
