19/04/2014 – The blog that got his job back!

19/04/201417

Former Monday blogster reporting for duty.

And the story of the day, amazingly, was not that I was back.

Or royalty.

It was waves….

……Lots of waves……

…..Bold and Beautiful dumping waves…

But even though some of us are IRONMAN standard like Sarah Eade (Congrats again!)

Make sure you swim within your limits and maybe have a nice big stretch too before you swim too

If you were one of the literally thousands of Monday blog readers, you would of course recognise the token arty shots that were a staple of your start to the week. Saturdays will be no different..

If you ever want any of my blog photos, just drop me an email at robert.byrne00@gmail.com (I give you special price!)

This weirdo used to stalk me on a Monday, no surprise he found me on Saturday.

But there were some people I was happy to see, like the wonderful Jane

And since he has dropped all legal cases against me, Mike Bairds dad. 😉

Michael told everyone that he used to be someone important and that we should buy him breakfast after the swim. Or something about waves.

Last swim before she jets off to circumnavigate both the North & South Poles in nothing but her B&B swimmers and cap, I got to see LSA before she left…

Half way didnt look much better than the beach option from a distance

But Sunday blogger Snorkles didnt care and led the half way charge

The waves were so bad, even at Shelley people had to wear crash helmets

If you spot yourself in these Shelley photos it means you are a particularly beautiful/handsome person. Or you just happened to be around when I got snap happy, calm down.

Alison was so excited to tell me she saw a turtle she couldnt even stand up

PHOTOBOMB! Well played Elaine & John Bond.

This dive gets a 10

This one a 2

We made it! Well done team.

Unfortunately John Bond didnt quite make it back, he had some trouble on the way back with the local Marine life

Until next week!

Keep swimming and smiling,

Robster the Blogster

Welcome back Robster – hilarious blog as usual.
And about my flippers: after they were whipped off my feet by a gigantic wave while it was dumping me on the way out, I swam without them, beating the world record time to get to Shelly (i.e. the longest one). Thankyou to the kind person who rescued one flipper and put it on the table. If anyone finds the other (blue pointy Aqua Sphere type), please would you hold on to it for me?

Great to have you back Robster. Gee we missed your blogs! Well done to all our new swimmers today, it was a tougher swim than usual. I followed inspirational Jane through the waves and got caught by those 2 huge, rogue waves further out. Hope everyone is Ok. Have a good trip Little Sarah and Jon, we’ll miss you and Happy Easter everyone!

Must have been rough for you to get caught. Well done Jane on a courageous flipper less swim, although with my lovely swim buddy Elaine by your side you would have been in good hands!! 🙂

Great blog Robster. Sorry to have missed you and Emer – and many others – this morning. What a fantastic swim for our farewell! Will miss all while away. Happy swims meantime.

    Robbie
Great you’re back and working within the 5 photo rule.
Was getting so over all the fishy wishy photos of NickDs
And the self indulgence of lips.
Can you also fill in on their days?

Welcome back Robster! It was indeed wonderful to see those waves this morning, especially the bombora.

Excellent wave photos and great blog. Well done Zoe from New Zealand who had her first swim with BB today. In the waves. Entered through those waves and got to Shelly quick time. Wow.

Ouch – fortunately this monster took me for a ride back to halfway beach then spat me out as an undesirable food source.
And I thought those Dusky Whalers were friendly.
    Welcome back Robbie and Emer.

Rumour has it that one of our members has had a pacemaker fitted …
Some people will do anything to get more speed through the water :-))
Cheers and best wishes to you know who.

Great to have you back blogging Robbie 🙂
Hope those waves go as quick as they came. They make for a good spectators sport, I’m kinda hoping for a couple of tranquil scenic swims just quietly 😉
On first look I thought your half way picture was ‘on location’ – very good !!

Well with Lips playing in the shallows at the beach, I had to lead the pack down the Hallowed Steps of Doom and into the beautiful clear swirling waves below us.
Robbie can you try not to be too witty on a Saturday, as you know everyone prefers a night out at the Boatshed with Elaine and then a refreshing Sunday morning swim and a fantastic blog to read with their Sunday lunch.

Welcome back Robby and cousin Emer. Great blog. LSA has been grooming me for blog tarting while she is away. She forgot to tell me it was Saturday and that you were back blogging. Im afraid I let her down with a lack of focus. Why does John Bond wear shoes swimming? Lyndall
