First light (* = photo is curtesy of Lainey)
6 am crew , except for Billy, piked out today because Clair said, ” It’s too wet to swim”.
.
The rain didn’t seem to worry the Booty Campers who were praying for more rain.
The surfers were didn’t seem to mind the rain
I swam off the beach to Shelly with the 6.30 express. Not a bad swim, provided you were prepared to dive under 6-10 waves to reach the point. The bay route was a bit bumpy with waves and foam and some quite warm patches off the bower.
This pin-up boy from Balmoral, whose name can not be spoken, gave me his professional business card.
The return journey had a few left handers off the point but seemed OK provided you didn’t mind lots of white water. I noticed this sign after the swim.
Lainey’s rainbow shot *
Most of the 7 amers opted to get wet by walking to Fairy Bower (half-way beach)*
Eventually quite a large group reached Shelly*
To celebrate the lovely “Sparkles” AKA Michelle Sparkes reaching 1,000 kms on the Pacific Challenge.
Yeah!!! Sparkles!!!! *
A breathless Lips sprinted back to be first out of the water at Fairy Bower*
In time to assist the lovely 1000km Sparkles up the stairs*
Meanwhile the so called Ä-Team hence forth to be known as the “Non-Swimmers Team” totally chickened out just because of a little rain*. Instead of actually swimming they chose to spend their time complaining about the coffee service.
Fortunately I was able to enjoy the company of some REAL swimmers over coffee
Have a great week ahead.
Simon

it wasn’t that they went to Manly Wine they were heading to swim in a nice clean pool instead of the ocean – I think THAT’s worse than going straight to Manly Wine!!!
They are no longer The A Team to me!!
