Good morning! Bishop of Manly reporting in after a week off (thanks Dr Becky). This morning was truly one of the most enjoyable swims I have had in a long time. Over 58 of us headed out for a swim – some to Queenscliff and some to Shelly.
We found an elusive puffer fish washed up on the beach near the surf club.
And a sooky Drinksy who had a sore ear and couldn’t swim. Of course there has been a few jokes being made at the A-teams expense after our non-swim, straight to Manly Wine on Monday morning. So no judgement from us Drinksy – you swim when you feel like it!
Isn’t Meg beautiful? We did have a little bit of fun over coffee with her. Ask her about her piloting skills…
The swim was beautiful this morning. No Scotty, Spaniard or Brad, so Irishman Alex and I battled it out for the win. Alex sat on my feet the whole way and then popped out with 100m to go and passed me. It then comes down to how much skin are you willing to leave on the rocks to get the win. This morning I decided the answer was quite a bit. So a win for the Bishop and a win for the rocks!
This is Rob – a new favourite amongst us swimmers. He even tapes himself in pink…
Alright, it is Christmas and it is time to get into the spirit of things. This Sunday my church is putting on Carols on the Corso at 5pm. Not only will Jack Vidgen of Australia’s Got Talent fame be singing and yours truly speaking briefly, but Sterling Brain will be singing Oh Holy Night dressed as Mrs Clause. 2 of the last 3 points are true. So – everyone is welcome!
Um speaking of Sterling has anyone seen him recently? These two photos got sent to me from Melbourne this morning. Is there something we should know?
No, they were just swimming together at Sterling’s fancy hotel pool. Talk about sucking it in!

He needs a few volunteers to help as support crew next Saturday please comment below or contact him if you can help. The 6km swims started today and run each Saturday in Summer. Ok, the puffer fish is a great pic and a funny third-hand version of Megan’s piloting skills justifies her pic….but then….Rob might wear pink tape, but never a pink cap that I’m aware of….and when you said you had a great scoop from Melbourne, thought it might be a little more exciting….
I mean, Tim… I did offer you a pic of my newly acquired 1000k badge or one of my half-healed half-way scratches…..even your war wounds would have beaten that “great scoop”:)

The most perfect conditions for our early B’elly this morning….. heavenly water conditons!.Thanks Lips and Claudia!
For others thinking of doing a bolderdash, just find a friend or few and go for it when winds and swell are down…. it really is beautiful swimming to Queensie in the early morning.

Oh no! The photo from Melbourne with our swimmer friend and ‘friend’ in matching bathrobes turned out to be Sterling and Dreamboat!!! LSA and i were expecting something different!
That must be the worst photo of Tayls ever taken. Really Chris, you look much better in real life!
Lovely swim, water a bit clearer, spotted a wobbegong and a flathead(which John Kelly thought was a wobbegong, that English beer must have affected his eyesight.)
Happy Birthday Joe. I’ll post your birthday photo on Facebook. Nice blog Bishop!
