Hi All,
A short blog today! Everyone should be out enjoying the day rather than reading blogs!
What a stunning day in Manly for the B&B swim. Perfect conditions all round with over 300 swimmers taking on the swim to Shelly today. What a way to start the weekend! There were plenty of first timers as well…..the word seems to be spreading about this amazing experience.
Today’s trivia: Jim Carrey (52) celebrates his birthday today as does Muhammad Ali (72).

Tim takes 1st place…again! Also claims to LIFO (Last In First Out) award!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!
Hugs and more hugs!
Declan

What a lovely guy you are Declan, blogging for us when you’re injured and can’t even swim at the moment. Beautiful Shelly shots! Our turtle has been rescued by a team from Manly Sealife Sanctuary and Ecodivers as they did come to the conclusion he probably would die in that injured state in CTB. Thanks Mauricio and Sharnie!

Yay for the turtle!
Glorious morning. It doesn’t get much better.

Stunner morning. Well done on the turtle rescue!
Peter Barfod lead a group of 20 odd swimmers to a rather unusual North Steyne double plus a bit to knock off the customary Saturday morning 6k.
Please don’t forget to submit your completed feedback forms to Peter by COB today. I know there were some complaints re course and limited gluten-free snack options at North Steyne. (Nurse J?)
Great photos Declan!

Thanks for keeping us together on the 6km Peter. Loved the kayak support and in-water aid station. I could get used to stopping for snacks. Thanks paddlers!
Thanks for the turtle update Lainey.

I think Peter should get an extra 100kms on the Pacific Challenge for showing calm, and solid guidance under a barrage of very helpful suggestions as to which course we should take.
We all obviously knew better than the Garmin. He also managed to stop us talking and just get on with the swimming…no mean feat
Next time I will pre order my snack options and the frozen Margarita.
Beautiful morning, thanks everyone.

couldn’t have asked for better conditions or better company for my first 6k swim. Thanks all, especially Peter.

What a tease – me being up here in the good ol’ Blue Mtns and having to make do with the local aquatic centre while you all have THAT!! No-one will be able to keep me away tomorrow though. Can’t wait to see you all. Love from the Blue Mountains. PS Shaun and Veena if you want (slow) swimming company tomorrow……

Your thanks and compliments are appreciated. Regarding your 189 suggestions for improvement, I will take these on board.
Perhaps coffee and croissants should be served at key meeting points along the swim. I understand however that the B&B corporate rules state that a bloody mary is the appropriate post-6k-swim cocktail.
I have provided several photos to Ian and hopefully these can be presented on the blog (6k heroes, what’s that?, king fish, etc)
