Move over Spaniard, Scrappy Scotty, Fat Bishop, Dreamboat, Hot Rod and Studdy Sterling …There was a bit of rain today and the real men (and women) were out swimming!
We had… Dicky Lacey, Speedy Stacey, Pregnant Lucy, Dreamtruck Tedley, The Skinny Atheist, The Bachelor, The African and Buffman all heading for a 12.8 minute finish today. Here they are back at the cafe all claiming they were first’…

It was actually our wonderful retired vet, marine-expert Jane who pipped them to the post. Here she is back in the change rooms, basking in her victory!(Looking very gorgeous after her trip to Hobart I might add.)

Back to the start of the morning then… Here are a few hard core swimmers preparing themselves for the wetter than usual conditions! You can just see how they are bursting with enthusiasm to get out from shelter in to the rain and in to the even wetter ocean!

Our super scrappy Scouser John Kelly shows his trademark peace sign again. (He used to turn his hand around the other way on the streets of Liverpool growing up 😉 We are all about peace, love and happiness at the Bold n Beautiful! At the very least 65 of us turned up today and were so glad we crawled out from under the doona!

Katrina’s daughter Tessa has just been officially sponsored by Mambo and is getting loads of Mambo gear and a wet suit made especially for her. She is doing really well on the surfing comp circuit!

Well done Tessa!

There were a few gentle waves but it was much calmer than it has been with no stingy things and warm water. Didn’t even notice any cold patches today!

Tedley and Buffman Ian have a water fight on the way out!(I think Tedley is defending my honour 😉

It might be dull and rainy but Cabbage Tree Bay always looks beautiful…You should have come down folks!

There were about 5 very early 6am swimmers, 15 Drinks Expressers and around 45 of us 7amers

Lovely Lucy is expecting her first baby tomorrow but still managed to make it for a swim. She does the ‘Let’s Go’! Good on ya Luce!

Alan, Robyn and Tayls did their usual double.

Had a quick chat with Jenny on the way in. She is really proud to have been the ‘Fastest Mover’ on The Pacific Challenge chart yesterday. Love how a lot of us get spurred on by all of that! Inge was also telling me how she is so proud to have made it on the table now having swum 77 kms!

David Brown is a runner as well as a swimmer. His longest run being 170 kms!

Phil brings along a newbie today, Gene from the US of A. He loved it!

Jenny, Henrietta and Alison is it?

Now something for you romantics out there… Ian has been feeling a bit guilty lately for not rushing down to the shoreline with a towel for his lovely wife who has to rush off to work. But today… it was like a scene from Gone with the Wind or The Notebook for you younger ones…

How sweet!!! Poor Ian he’s got a hard day ahead whilst Gayle is in her cosy office. I think he has to show a couple of Swedish backpackers how to make beds and tidy kitchens…
All in all it was a great swim. Us swimmers are going to feel all smug and happy today knowing we did it whilst all of you others regret it for the rest of the day!
Note: Next Saturday is the 80th birthday of BnB’s own Wilf Deck. Please come and join us at the benches for birthday cake and to sing Happy Birthday at 8.30. Haha – most excellent blog. Always good to put the knife into the A-team!
BTW, I don’t think Ian quite got the hang of the victory finger….
Just wait till I blog tomorrow. A-teams revenge!

What a great blog Lainey !
we are privileged to be able to do this every day. I bet Gayle is glad I dragged her out of bed.
I think Ian is giving a special sign to Lainey, just one finger Ian & not the middle one !!!
Love you all

Great blog Elaine 😜
In defence of Dreamboat

Oooh Lainey – very brave to stick it to the A-team but at least one of them has a good excuse. With Dreamboat currently being overseas its a bit hard for him to get down to the B&B. Apparently he has never missed a morning when in Manly. Incurring the wrath of the bishop and his higher power mate might be a dangerous thing to have done. Apparently divine intervention and retribution can be cataclysmic or, literally, apocalyptic!
