02/02/15 – You Make the Day

02/02/20157

The illusion of linear time is purely an intellectual construct.  There are moments, that is all.  But how are these moments created?  Well, we don’t so much create them, as allow them to be so.

Those who swam this morning were granted a little glimpse of this as the sun came out to shine.  So how many swimmers does it take to make the sun come out?

Apparently 88.   But that’s just a number, not the answer.  How did we do it?  Easy…

We connected.

With each other, with the nature around us and to the nature that we are within.  We allowed ourselves to be, and allowed ourselves to do – to do what we love.

And though it may not seem much, by being who you truly are and doing what you love you will always, always be enough.

Light rain and dull sky, heading to The Point to re-group. Water surprisingly clean after a night of rain

Causing ripples in the surface, the smaller than usual group halfway across the bay

Coming into Shelley Beach the clouds part and we glimpse
blue sky

More sunshine, with every swimmer that reaches the shore

A swim with friends and the creation of a day.  Enjoy the sunshine, we made it for you.
You’re welcome.

Regards,
Andrew ‘Magichands’ Maher.

B&B and REDFEB Heart Research 2015

REDFEB is Heart Research Australia’s signature fundraising campaign. It promotes a heart healthy lifestyle and raises much needed funds for first-stage innovative research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease.

B&B will again be assisting this cause in 2015 by participating in the virtual REDFEB Relay and help to lap the map of Australia! Last year in February we swam over 8700 km and raised $2,200. Our aim this year will be to beat that figure. B&B will again be assisting this cause in 2015 by participating in the virtual REDFEB Relay and help to lap the map of Australia!

Last year in February we swam over 8700 km and raised $2,200. Our aim this year will be to beat that figure and raise $3,000. To view our B&B team page CLICK HERE
You can donate funds on the team page, or even better, you can create your own page where all your friends can donate towards the cause. To create your own page and join the B&B team, just go to the team page and simply click “join”. You will then be taken through the steps to create your own page. On your own page you can input your kilometers and also raise funds. All funds raised on individual pages will accumulate to the B&B team total.

Staying safe

Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits.  Also, if you have a bit more experience, keep an eye out for new swimmers who might need company. Hi
Anyone planning on doing a bolderdash this coming Wednesday or more importantly the 6K on Saturday?
I’ve done a few 3K swims and am planning on attempting the 6km this coming Sat but want to see if there is other people doing it at my pace (slow) that I could swim with

Wednesday indeed looking good for a bolderdash Patricia.
I’ve been canvassing the usual suspects and there will be slow trains leaving both 5:50 (with option for bolder-shelly) and 6:20 (the Ted&Pete babydash).
