Thats the motto for this family. Fiona and Matt, are healthy & proud B & B parents who love the swim so much that they share the job of minding their beautiful 8th mth old daughter Samantha in a tag team swim event a few mornings each week. They are really well organised and all three of them enjoy the experience.
I asked how they do it? Matt & Fiona pack everything the night before including Samantha’s breakfast and then, they – “wake up” “pick up Sam” and “get out the door” and walk from their home in Manly early enough for Matt to join in with the 6.30am Drinky Express. Once he is finished his swim, Matt, gives Fiona the “high five” and minds Sam and feeds her breaky, so that Fiona can swim with the rest of us at 7.00. They both relax with a coffee at 7.30am before work.
They are not alone…. there a few lovely families that have been doing this early morning family / swim. The other lovely B & B families that do the early morning swim shuffle are Brad & Lucy and 8mth old Lucy, and Lindsay & Richard and toddler Stephanie.
Hope this inspires other families to follow in their footsteps.
Todays swim was a gentle and calm 20 degrees with lovely sunshine and around 135 swimmers, 4 newbies.
There were lots of little jelly things in the water that we could feel with our hands. Thankfully they were not stingers.
It was a little cloudy today. But due to some good spotting by a fellow B & B swimmer we managed to get a pic of the Eagle Ray just off the point.
We have a B & B dinner on tonight at the Blue Water 6.30pm.
See you tonight, have a great afternoon.
Jenny 🙂

Nice blog Jenny, I love seeing the tag swim parents too. Ted and I are tag swim doggy owners on Saturdays! Lovely swim. I got some nice close ups of that Eagle Ray swimming at The Point. Very unclear everywhere else though.

Nice one Jenny and a great shot of the eagle Ray, especially as the visibility was so poor!

We don’t manage the tag team anymore since baby Rowan arrived, but we hope to again at some point. Just shows that B and B is fun for the whole family!
