This is a season for ocean swimming! With the water safety at events, it is a good time to try out new beaches (at least that is what I think). Here are some swimmers at Coogee wedding cake Island swim (oops – I am in all of them);

It was very scientific of Bernhard to talk numbers. I am measuring my swim time. I see lots of people wearing Garmins too. But Bernhard, you must compare like with like and not compare your good 30 or so year self to your son Marco who is a speedy teen!

Stats

175 swimmers

8 newbies

20.8 degrees.

TOMORROW is your next chance to collect a Summer 6km Swim Badge

Saturday 5 December kicked off the 6 km summer swims. These are on every Saturday during summer.

There is one 10 km swim in December, February and March 2015/16. The proposed date of the first 10 km swim is Saturday 12 December.

2016 Calendars !!
The 2016 B&B calendars are now on sale. Get your copy from Ian any day at the swim, or order onlineHERE. They make a great Christmas gift for family and friends, here or overseas. This year the calendars are even more impressive in a larger A3 format, all for the same cost as last year – just $15 each.

Staying safe
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits.  Also, if you have a bit more experience, keep an eye out for new swimmers who might need company. Great blog, great service, Elizabeth! And well done at Coogee too!!
What a lovely swimming day….the kind of day that Garmins should definitely be banned as perfect for swimming slowly and in circles:-)

Great blog. Well done on completing the Coogee swim and great posing afterwards.
Derek crashed into Fi this morning. Unintentionally he claims.

Well done Elizabeth on your Coogee swim, one that I would like to do. You also did a swim at Bondi last Sunday.
Great conditions this morning with calm water at 20.8C and blue skies. Air temp was about 32 today.
6k and 10k swims start with the 7am swim tomorrow, then meet at the point on the way back.
Will assess the sea conditions before 7am. The swims would not take place if it was unsafe to do so.

Wasn’t it Fi who crashed into Derek? And weren’t you meant to be the look-out for us? Derek said none of it would have happened if Fi had been wearing a pink cap:-))

Elizabeth the photo of the two guys at Shelly doing pushups do you know who the person on the right of the photo in the pink togs is? I presume not John Bond as I don’t think he wears pink togs thanks for your blogging, always enjoyable 🙂
