22/3/16 Warm with a patch of cool

22/03/20163

Craig with Chris showing off his brand new wet suit. (Not that he really needed it –Yet!)

The water was a lovely warm 24 degrees but the air temp was a cool 16 degrees. We had this strange cool layer on the way to Shelly.

Maybe its natures way of getting us ready for the cooler months?

Lots of activity on the beach but a few less swimmers than normal… very calm today.

Lots of smiles from the gang at Shelly, always lots of energy in the endorphin fuelled shots. (thanks Lainey Loo for the next few shots)

Louise and Jen  (in the middle of the bay)

Robyn, Lisa, Monica, Jane, Meliss, Georgia and Jill

The Doublers!

What a great way to start the day!

I love it.

Jenny :))

Check out out Brian’s Head wound! From a robust game of basket ball?? No swimming for Brian today. That’s a nasty gash, hope it heals up soon for you Brian.

Stats:
Swimmers 50
Water temp 24.0 C!

Staying safe

Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. Also, if you have a bit more experience, keep an eye out for new swimmers who might need company. Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf. To read, or even download, click here.
