Well played Saturday!
I came down to Manly Beach this morning before 6am to be greeted by this amazing sunrise. It was spectacular. The different shades of orange, pink, purples and blues were on show in the sky. I don’t know what it is with me but I do not have the capacity to sleep, in even if I have gone to bed at midnight. I am usually up at 4:30am each morning. It may be because of the many years of waking to nurse my 5 babies or just because I know it is a new morning with new exciting adventures. Who knows? As I walked around I loved seeing the active people on and around the beach front who were enjoying the sunrise and the dawn of a new morning. When I look around and chat with all you wonderful people who swim with The Bold and Beautiful Squad we are an eclectic array of individuals who have one specific love in common and that is the OCEAN! We are THALASSOPHILES (yes there is a term for us).
The water was fantastic it was 19.8 degrees with teeny waves as we entered the water. The visibility was somewhat clear today. But I just was lost in my thoughts as I swam to Shelly, half the time I couldn’t believe how exceptionally blessed I felt for the freedom we enjoy to swim as we do and the other half of the time I thinking how relaxed my body was with the water lapping against me, super therapeutic.
If you need to find your zen or vibe or mental health or sanity or happiness, try dipping your body in the ocean, it really does works wonders.

Humans of The Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad
Whenever I blog I interview people and ask them two questions
1) Why did you start swimming with The Bold and Beautiful Swim Squad?
2) How does it make you feel?
Introducing Carol
“I started swimming with The Bold and Beautiful because a friend did it and I wanted to do it with her. It makes me feel sensational and it is the best start to the day. I started 3 years ago.”
Here are the self named “Manly Express” from Cammeray. They are a wonderful group of mums from Cammeray and a token husband Wez. Their energy and friendship with one another was infectious. Loved meeting you today #mumsoftheboldandbeautifulswimsquad
Introducing Barb from the Manly Express
“I love to swim and I was always scared to swim in the ocean and now I am not. I have been swimming for 2ish years. It makes me feel sane!”
Introducing Annie from the Manly Express
“We are a group of ladies from Cammeray there were a few of us doing it. Then a couple more jumped on board. I am swimming for sanity and I have been doing it for a couple of years as well.”
Introducing Jenny from the Manly Express
“Barb and a couple of others were doing it and I saw their glow after they finished doing it when they went back to the hood. The hood is Cammeray, yes we are from the Ray that is our hood. So we all travel together here and back. It is my mental health plan. I feel like a different person if I have swum. You don’t want to deal with me if I haven’t swum.”
Introducing Kate from the Manly Express
“I come to escape my house of 4 children and I love exercising so it was a great way to get up in the morning and do something with my girlfriends. It makes me feel happy.”
Introducing Roz from the Manly Express
“I started swimming because of these lovely ladies and it makes me feel privileged. I have been swimming for 10 months.”
Me with the Manly Express, I wanted a photo with them because they are awesome women!
Introducing Naomi and Marlo
Naomi
“I used to do laps by myself from Manly to Shelly and I would see the pink caps and I asked someone about it. They said they swim everyday. So I started at the beginning of the year. It makes me feel so refreshed and I enjoy it.”
Marlo
“Naomi took me along and I really enjoy it. I started here in March.”
My fave peeps Shaun and Roger
Lower Management Shaun who has been holding down the fort lately and Management John who is kind enough to show up today 😉

Brilliant blog, stunning sunrise snaps, funny photos, sensational smiling selfies and interesting interviews. (Perhaps that’s a little too much alliteration). Well done Nat!

What excellent photos – they really showed what the swim was like today. But like usual I love your people profiles the most. No wonder the energy of the bb is so positive with you and the manly express swimming together.
