What a relief it was today on two counts – one the waves were much friendlier looking, even though there was a light drizzle and two: that stifling heat was gone with that southerly coming through last night.
There was a large group of 6.30 swimmers out to play. Reports on their return from Drinky were “all good” which generally means no biteys or stingys.
Meanwhile everyone else was trying to find shelter wherever they could.
Cheryl took great care of Rachel on her first swim.
Lyndal and Peta both enjoyed their swim but for upper lower management Sean, he’ll have to wait as he is out of the water for a couple of weeks.
I am sure Storchy and Derek were sharing tall stories from Tuesday night – thanks again to management for a great night – was lovely to see you all dressed up instead of swimmers and wetsuits.
I promised Les Bubs a suitably awful photo – how’d I do? Apparently its punishment for sneaking off early from Shelly.
The 6.30 exit/7pm entry is a busy time on the beach.
Schools out for these kids – always mucking around (is that a better photo LesBubs?)
But the beach is always a happy place!!
It was Ewen’s birthday today, so what better way to celebrate than a swim with his daughter.
And he got the birthday treatment at Shelly Beach.
More happy faces at Shelly – it doesn’t matter what the weather is, it is always just gorgeous in our little piece of paradise.
Thanks for sharing such a lovely morning – see you all again tomorrow.

Lovely blog Deanna.
And shame on Lesbubbles for leaving Shelly early. In my book, that’s almost as bad as stealing bags. Stealing someone’s birthday.. tsk tsk.

Lovely blog, lovely swim in the rain!
Storchy said we should swim north to avoid the Shelly jimbles. I think he was the only person to then get jimbled:).

Almost as good as last week when it rained heavily and we were rewarded with the most beautiful double rainbow over Queenscliff – every swim in the rain is something special.
