It was a green light run all the way from Cammeray until the bottom of the hill at Sydney road. A three songs car ride – Janet Jacksons – Together again, Eurythmics – Sweet Dreams and Powder Fingers – My Happiness – the day had started well. I headed off with the 6.00am crew, what was I thinking? I am so out of their league, as they sped ahead, gliding through the water effortlessly I pondered, I am in my own league, it is a slow league but I like it, I missed my usual swimming buddies, but every now and again it is good to just be alone. I enjoyed my solo swim and was warmly welcomed by Trish, Jo and Simon who had kindly waited. We headed off back to the beach, I in their wake, but happily so.
Manly was beautiful……..there were men with a dog talking philosophy
And other men talking about what they did last night.
And then were
Men with Ken ….the excellent, smiley one on the left and
Men with crossed legs on the right, the lovely Murray and
Men with stripey towels, the delightful Danny
On my return the 7.00am were readying themselves to swim in their league.
In no rush at all, I sat down to talk to a wise man in his 30’s, you know who your are,
who sagely noted
Today is the youngest we will ever be..’ he is in a league of his own !
Here are a few thoughts from me, some borrowed(Matt Haig) and some new…
And last but not least a birthday call out to the gorgeous
Annie K, have a beautiful day ………………..
Have a lovely weekend….Barbx

B&B Fundraising Christmas Party
Please book early for the B & B Christmas Party, which will be held on Tuesday 11th December at 6.30 pm in the Moonshine Bar (2nd Floor) at the Steyne Hotel. All swimmers and partners/friends are welcome (no under 18s unfortunately). The theme is simply “Christmas”, so come dressed in your finest Christmas paraphernalia. The music this year will again be provided by the band, “Gluteus Maximus”, who play two types of music, Rock and Roll! The cost is $15 per head, with all proceeds going to the running costs of the B&B. Book now! Don’t miss out on this fun event, as numbers are limited. Book HERE now!
On the night, Royal Far West will be running a monster raffle and auction. Last year, this raised over $4000 for their important programs for disadvantaged kids. There will be fantastic items up for grabs, so be prepared to bid hard. Royal Far West have requested if you have any valuable items to donate for the auction or raffle, that you contact Desiree (desireec@royalfarwest.org.au), who will be co-ordinating the event for RFW.

Thanks Barb for a fabulous blog loaded with men and philosophising, what could be better? I declined an invitation to swim with the Drinks group this morning, I know when I am outclassed. They don’t call it the Express for nuthin’. Another great swim with the hoi polloi though.
