Never turn your back on the ocean – it has all manner of tricks up its sleeve as Georgina, Melise and Jo (who is in the photo but mostly underwater) discovered on their bumpy but fun ride back into the beach this morning!
Speaking of morning – it started off warm with a beautiful sunrise over the bay and glistening water which looked nice from the beach – but – well – its still murky but luckily not so smelly.
The smell and its origins has been the subject of serious debate. Some say its cunjevoi, others say it’s the A Team in general and not just after a big night out, others say its rotting wood/debris washed onto the beach (Ian) while yet others (John) say it’s sewerage overflow. I do hope Ian’s right!
Another Hart plug – lovely cossies by Georgina Hart! Still think it would be awesome for B&B to have their very own swim wear business with Georgina as head designer. Will it ever happen? Nah – probs not – but it’s fun to think about!
These ladies were quick to put their hands up when asked whether they agree that swimming to the pool and back is ‘tickable’. Anne seamed to think that just by entering the water is tickable given the nasties you can catch at the moment. Maybe we should put the ocean in quarantine for 14 days.
They then went onto demonstrate how murky the water is! 😳😳😳
Above the water is a completely different story! Stunning stunning stunning! Let’s not think about what lurks beneath!! (Thanks Anne for those beautiful photos!)
On the way back to the beach Gemma was spotted demonstrating her diving technique, which for a pom, was actually not that bad!
And Jo was overheard trying to convince Gemma that she has 3 pairs of the same swimming costume which is why it’s lasted 10 years. When pointing out the parts of Jo’s cossie that were saggy and wearing a bit thin, Jo assured Gemma that it was part of the design.
Lainey was excited to get into the water today, and on discovering murk, even more excited to get out!
Lainey’s mum and dad, Ann and Trevor, are visiting from the UK. Back home Trevor reads the blog every single day at 7am! For those who think people don’t read the blog, you can now feel safe in the knowledge that at least one person on the other side of the world does! 😍 Thanks Trev for your support!

Gorgeous Max with owners Sooze and Dave! Sorry about the lying down photo! System error!
Relaxing and hip hopping after the swim!
And finally, another not so ‘smelly’ debate was in full swing – Greg and Brian were in disagreeance about the colour of Greg’s new shirt. Brian was adamant it was pink, but on interviewing numerous bystanders, there was no consensus! Watermelon, salmon, musk, magenta, coral, bubble gum – just to name a few! What do you think??
Have a great week.

The Monthly Dinner – 10th March 2020 – Wine Tasting
The next B&B monthly dinner will be held on Tuesday 10th March at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. Special guest, David Webster, will present the range of Bold and Beautiful wines especially for B&B members and their friends. The Bold and Beautiful wines were born out of the idea of creating a village wine for Manly. The wines comprise two wines made in the Hunter Valley by rising star James Becker of M&J Becker Wines. The red, “The Beautiful”, is a Shiraz Viognier blend made in a very light style perfect for summer drinking. The white, “The Bold”, is 100% Chardonnay made in a fruit forward style with strong Chardonnay flavours but low oak usage. Once you have tasted the wines, you can purchase bottles through the restaurant to enjoy over dinner.
Please book early for this event as it is sure to be popular. The cost of the dinner is great value at only $25 a head, which includes shared entrees, and a selection of mains to choose from (including a vegetarian option). Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each (please note, NO BYO). Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential. To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please book at www.boldandbeautifulmanly.com.au/bb-bluewater-monthly-dinner.html .
HAVE YOUR SAY!!
DPI has placed its Shark Management Strategy community survey on public release. Here is a link to the survey: https://www.
Through the Strategy, DPI has trialled a series of shark management/mitigation methods at a number of NSW ocean beaches. The trials aim to increase protection of beachgoers, while minimising harm to sharks and other marine animals. DPI is interested in obtaining the views of the community regarding their support and preferences for shark mitigation at NSW ocean beaches.

Hello
Can you please do a story about my brother. He just turned 60. He swims with the 6.30 group. He has come all the way from Sweden with his family. He does the swim every day for 3 weeks while he is here. He’s small with freckles. Drinksie will point him out.
Thanks
Tim

Hi Tim, absolutely. Is there a particular day you’d like him included in the blog i.e. when friends and family can join him for a swim and photos? We can sort that for you! Alternatively we can get one of the 6.30s to take some photos of Peter et al and hand onto a blogger! Let me know.
