Thursday 25 June… Why wear a wetsuit?

25/06/20202

The big debate in winter is whether to wear a wetsuit…. this morning I asked the crew and here’s what they said. It seems more men recommend wetsuits and more women don’t… does that mean us blokes need to toughen up? Click on Lesley below to make up your mind… to rubber up or not?

Clarification on B&B Suspension of Swimming

The official B&B swim has currently been suspended until further notice. All other group activities have also been cancelled in line with government advice (eg dinners, Anzac Service). We are aware that some people will still want to swim for both mental and physical health. If you are in this category please:

  • swim safely at any time during daylight hours
  • when you arrive at Manly, do not congregate in front of the surf club,
  • enter the water straight away, no need to stop at the point, or wait at Shelly Beach, and remember to apply social distancing protocols even in the water,
  • be aware of other swimmers in the water to avoid head-on collisions, and
  • leave the area as soon as you can after the swim.

The reason we have suspended the swim is that it is no longer considered safe to congregate in large groups. Thank you for your co-operation.
