BOLD & BEAUTIFUL IS NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING DUE TO THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIAL DISTANCING AND STAYING INSIDE AS MUCH AS IS POSSIBLE DUE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19).
I was on a mission today to help Sam see her first cuttlefish and/or anything pretty. Early bird gets the worm so we met at 6.30am, which means we have to start nearly in darkness.
See the big, bright star in the sky? Was a beautiful full moon as I drove to Manly today.
Sam has never seen the cuttlefish, she’s not the only one, but we set out hoping to see one. We swam nearly everywhere possible, me without wetsuit, her with one. I have no idea what the temperature was but it felt like 16-17 definitely 16 at Shelley and Manly edges.

The sky and the sea was so beautiful today, clear as can be and beautifully calm, although that was changing as I left. We headed to the Bower Break, enjoyed the pink rocks and little fish, still swimming without daylight , so then headed to Shelley.
Just a few people up early and doing their swim also, we made it to Shelley, still hadn’t sighted anything terribly new, a few gropers around.

I was enamoured by the pretty coral in places and I always love this cute yellow fish, no idea of his name, but he’s quick as a flash out of there sometimes, hard to capture.

We went looking for the turtle around halfway area, then the scenic route back to Manly. No cuttlefish or turtle, or sharks of any nature. Maybe they all had a sleep in on Sunday. I was flabberasted. Just the cute fish on the surface having a good time.
Leveena got this gorgeous shot of the fish at the green grass, thanks for letting me share Leveena, so clear.

Nick, Jaimee and Kit practically live together they hang out so much, so I don’t think they need to be 2m apart for a photo.
Something is going wrong with typepad, may not be able to upload more photos, but they can go to swimmers page. Suffice to say, everyone was all smiles after the swim, no great sightings, more reasons to keep swimming. I”ve got footage of one of our seniour swimmers, presuming that a tree replaces a change room, and standing around half naked. We had a giggle about it, he doesn’t realise there’s footage, and he didn’t bother to rush and cover himself up. I wont’ name him but if you can identify him, go for it 🙂
I”m loving this podcast with female athletes, Sparta Chicks , have a listen.

Don’t forget to swim, it’s cold but fun, tick your swim, and enjoy a badge in a few months time. Stay safe given there’s changes in our community with Covid 19. ciao-edwina.
Swim Anywhere, Any time to qualify for your 2020 Once Off – Unique – Covid Winter Challenge
Due to Covid-19 and the current government guidelines limiting the number of people allowed to be in a group, Bold & Beautiful is still currently suspended.
But we recognise many of our swimmers are still swimming at various times and locations, and it is more important than ever to remain fit, healthy and connected.
As such, B&B is offering this unique, one off, Covid 2020 Winter Challenge Badge, kindly designed by our amazingly creative swimmer, Linda from Manly Mac Art.
To qualify for your Covid Winter Challenge Badge you need to swim 20 times across 7 different weeks of winter, between 1st June – 31st August.
If you are swimming at Manly, any time of the day, please continue to log your swim as Manly – Shelly Swim, this swim will not only count towards your Covid Winter Challenge Badge, it will also continue to count towards the Pacific Challenge.
If you are swimming in any other location, anywhere in the world, please tick your swim as ‘Covid Swim’, this will give you a special 19m on the Pacific Challenge and will count towards your Covid Winter Challenge.
