26/03/2024 – Wobbies, Fiddler Rays and Blind Sharks Fornicating

March 26, 20240

It was a perfect swim today… Calm waters, visibility great with loads of sightings, warm water and a great group of swimmers. The two amazing souls above, Merrilee and Tony are helping organize a special swim on Thursday to honour Ted… 28th March would have been his 62nd birthday… If you would like to swim the Ted’s Triangle at 7am please join us and it can even be logged as a B&B swim. So many of you helped with his treatment and Merrilee has kindly bought a lot of orange caps as a thank you so please collect one before you swim 🙂

200 of these caps

Cabbage tree Bay this morning

So many Fiddler Rays in the bay at the moment. I counted 5 today but 13 yesterday!

This one is huge and is nicknamed Sonny Bill by the vizzers. He even ate a smaller Wobbegong a few months ago!

Quite a few Cuttlefish sightings the last few days too.

The above photos are of the new turtle that has been spotted the last week in the bay. I was lucky enough to swim with him for an hour on Sunday. He has a clean shell and has been named Elliot.

The beautiful Bibi with Elliot

The turtle above lives closer to Shelly and the swimmers call him Teddy as he appeared just after Ted passed away.

It was hard to get a clear picture but these 3 (yes 3) Blind Sharks were writhing together in the rocks at the point today 🙂

Some of The Wows today

Some ‘Mermaids’
