It started raining last night and I believe there was a storm around 5 this morning, but the very low (as in walk to the Point low) tide, slight Southerly wind and swell made for near perfect swimming conditions. So congrats if you were able to swim today.

The sand situation is looking great with a smooth and safe pathway to the water, let’s hope it stays that way

Anne E and friend said the conditions in the water were fabulous. Let’s see. They certainly look pretty stoked.

Arm stuff

A universally acknowledged Nice Man, Derek

Very pretty female groper

Dusky butterfly fish, advance scouts for the imminent tropical arrivals. I’ve spotted them here 2 days running,

I’ve also spotted this eagle ray in the same vicinity 2 days running. Swimming slowly in circles. I thought this was unusual, and today I noticed it has a hook in its underside, or at least something that is trailing a line. Such a lovely ray, I hope it will be all right

While this eagle ray seems OK.

This very beautiful spotted wobbeging was on the bludge, lying about doing nothing. Lucky it’s good looking.

Old wives need no introduction

On my way back I was very very lucky to spot this beautiful eel at the point. Today’s musical offering is a tribute

The party animals have mostly recovered and I think the next Big Event will be the summer badge ceremony a few months away. There’s still plenty of time to earn one of the coveted summer badges to put onto your hoody. Or in the drawer with the best of intentions.
Here’s the tribute to the green legless wonder
