Sunrise today was so gorgeous that I had to steal one of Lainey’s photos from her morning conditions report. Stunning, don’t you agree?
It’s OG Izzy’s birthday today, here she is with her beloved and very cute rescue dog Bruno.
Inspired by these board paddlers I decided it was OK for me to get into the water from the ramp despite some big sets coming in. Do take care though, because the sand has shifted overnight and some rocks are currently exposed right next to and in front of the ramp
A few big waves coming in today with a Nor’easterly swell, but convenient lulls in between sets.
Caroline says today is not a day for hugging the rocks looking for fish, it’s a day to just swim. She’s right, so I figured that meant it was a good day to get some nice wave and swimmer shots.
If you weren’t feeling confident about heading out through the waves, Fairly Bower aka Half Way, or Shelly are great alternatives today.
The waves weren’t that big but if photos are taken from the surface they look bigger.
Including these 2 obliging ladies posing with the Flag of Manly in the background
I spotted a couple of freedivers who were picking up rubbish (absolute legends). We had a chat and agreed the biggest problem for our precious sea life here was hair ties, at least as much of a threat as all the plastic. Fish don’t have hands and if a hair tie gets stuck around one’s body that’s a certain slow death sentence.
This from a day or 2 ago got some favourable responses from the FB page so I thought I’d include it for the blog readers to enjoy as well (Poppy permission sought and received)
These are sightings from earlier this week. It’s very hard to get footage of the squid, pity about all the particles in the water, but the squid are rarely this obliging
Have a great day everyone.
