9/6/15 – The Thriving Aquarium

09/06/201513

This morning we were greeted with a 30 cm , 10 second southerly swell and a 3knot south east wind of no consequence in our secluded corner. Though I can tell you with some confidence that we will see 1-1.5 meter southerly swell by tomorrow and lasting all week. With a low tide of .4m at 7:38am it was wise to lift the landing gear around the point. With a beautiful sunrise at 6.55am and water back up again 18.8 degrees and an air temp much higher than normal it was a spectacular day for a swim.

With a beautiful sunrise at 6.55am and water back up again 18.8 degrees and an air temp much higher than normal it was a spectacular day for a swim. The surf club board paddlers were a little late this morning.

But the Yoga crew was right on time.

For a sunrise to remember all day.

The 6:30 crew reported great conditions.

Hit the wrong setting but you get the idea.

Somebody in full camo ready for the morning assault.

And frenetic activity round the scoreboard.

And the procession begins

Just a few notes about tonight. Be there for Ted Talks Manly starring our own Annie.

The kickoff was much warmer than expected.

A little lumpy on the point though.

With all well spread out for a start

Off to a leisurely pace

Underwater though it was a little busy with the tiny tots.

Zebra’s everywhere.

Bubbles from the passing throng.

And then what do you know a passing Ian bobbed up.

Some wild effects in the shallows.

And over the white cliffs as the waves broke.

A constellation of bubbles worthy of a picture

Theres the tail end of the throng now.

A few more waves though quite small

Then more zebra’s grazing.

Lucky there weren’t more collisions.

A few jacks playing follow the leader.

And a couple of triffids thrown in for good measure

Without pointing there were lots of happy people at Shelley

It was hard not to smile

Some went a little further but it sums it up

And then the home run.

A few Sgt Bakers in their Winter plumage

And still more fish

everywhere

Even Gandalph the Blue sailed past.

And this throng almost caused a were deep to the sandy bottom

And stretched to the surface

Definitely nursery day out

And another employing the high speed low drag initiative

With Bruce Baird close behind

And these guys trying unsuccessfully to hide

Would have been better in this

And with the low tide the landing gear came down early for a walk home

Really a spectacular day

With a breakfast for champions

And by the way Bernard’s back

And here is his front.

Have a great day everyone and keep smiling.

Brian

Fabulous pics Brian. And while I was snorkeling at a big school of Old Wifes near the white rocks on the way back – I WAS SIDESWIPED BY A DOLPHIN! Lainey-Loo and Sarah were a few metres away and saw it too. We also saw them jumping near the Bower Break. I’m sure this lone one had popped over to check us out.
