56 Swimmers today, the surf was up about 4-5 foot with clean waves so there were a few board riders about enjoying the fantastic conditions. Water was beautiful, close to 21 degrees.

You can see that the tide was high so it was quite a long swim out to the point today.

The 7am gang waiting at the point. The swim across to Shelly was a but “wishy washie” today with the increase in swell.

The 7am gang heading out, notice how high the tide was ….
Special thanks to Lainey for the beautiful pictures today.
(I was standing in today and had a little bit of camera troubles).
What a great start to the day!
Enjoy the rest of your day.
Jenny 🙂
Parking
B&B members do not have permission to park in any car spot or bay that belongs to the surf club. Please adhere to this rule. There is plenty of parking in the Council car park at no charge to you.
Summer Badges
There are now three badges available for those swimming in summer:
# 1: Saturday 5 December kicked off the 6 km summer badge swims. These are on every Saturday during summer.
# 2: There is one 10 km swim in December, February and March 2015/16. The first 10 km swim was on Saturday 12 December. Watch the blog for details of the second 10 km swim, to be held in February.
# 3: Our new badge, the Shelly Triple, involves a triple lap of Cabbage Tree Bay (i.e. swim to Shelly Beach and back to The Point three times – total 3.5 km). This swim can be completed any day and should be logged on the i-log system. Since this is designed for those who are unable (or unwilling) to do the longer swims, this badge is only available to those who haven’t completed a 6 km or 10 km swim during the season.
Really important with the big waves we’ve had recently! Staying safe
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. Also, if you have a bit more experience, keep an eye out for new swimmers who might need company. Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf. To read, or even download, click here.

So lovely of you to fill in blog when you are so busy getting ready to go to Japan Jenny. What a beautiful morning it was down at Manly today.
Jenny and I went to a great breakfast/motivational session this morning at The Little Love Inn which is a great place close to Bluewater on the second floor. Our very own Annie Larkin was one of the presenters. There is another one next Saturday morning 16th Jan. Here’s the link to book https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/the-rise-shine-breakfast-series-tickets-19679096708?aff=es2
Well worth going to!

I totally agree with lainey about the rise & shine motivation session. It was a great session and very we’ll organised. I would recommend others to go along for inspiration. I’m looking forward to working in my goals on the plane to Japan. 👍👍well done Annie and the team. The venue was really nice too, looking forward to going back there.
