Our swim is a reminder of the vastness of the ocean and all it contains. Forget Calories. Exercise for Awe.

A picture can capture the Awe of the words, and I think my friend Katherine Smith has captured the Awe of the words.
Katherine (http://www.katherinesmithillustration.com) who is a local illustrator, friend and occasional Bold and Beautiful swimmer chose Julia Baird’s NYT 6/5/17 opinion piece ‘Forget calories, Exercise for Awe’ as the subject for a student assignment. I know that this article by Julia struck a cord with swimmers and it was featured in our blog recently. I loved this piece that Katherine created so much I thought I would share it with you all.

Bold & Beautiful Vivideers
A group from the B & B hired the “Haylamon” Luxury Catamaran for a Vivid Cruise last night. It was a beautiful mild (we were all still rugged up), evening, not a breath of wind. (The cruise was actually moved at the last minute from Tuesday night to Monday because of predicted high winds tonight.) Those that were flexible enough to change nights were all very lucky guests and enjoyed BBQ dinner, warm mulled Gluvine and a wonderful sight of the lights of Vivid.

Sparkles & Edwina with a colourful icon as a back drop.

JK and his lovely family.

Craig, Sally & Rob enjoying themselves.

Everyone had a lovely smile. We were so well looked after.

What a back ground…for a few drinks.

All rugged up.

Our Captain. He was wonderful to change evenings and re-organise all the catering at the last minute so that we had the best possible weather. Thanks.

Lots of brave B&B’s on the front of the Cat enjoying the view.

Todays swim was calm and flat with 18.8 degree water and 12 degree air temp.
We enjoyed clear water and lots of Dusky Whalers, schools of “Old Wives, and 2 huge cuttlefish and the 6.30 Drinky express crew even saw the Seal today.
A morning well worth getting up for.

Nic totally rocking the marine look bag, pink cosies and Ugg boots. Looking great…

Susie and Sarge basking in the beautiful early light.

Matt is always rocking it the morning.
Welcome back from France Steve, great to share a sunrise with you again.

Another big smile from the 6.30 crew.

The “women of the wall” aka WOW defending the wall… while the rest of the WOW girls are in Bali with Lainey.

JK & Brian ready for action, its almost 7 O’Clock!

Those handsome “A Team” men of the tree.

Chris back from the 6.30 crew. Loving his swim today.
What a fantastic morning.

Key Stats:
