06/12/2012 – Manly Sparkles and so do our Swimmers!

06/12/201238

117 Bold & Beautiful swimmers got tipsy on seawater again. Well, it seemed that way looking at their faces after their swim…

9 Bolderdash.  3 + 17 swimmers enjoyed an early lap into Shelly.  5 swimmers continued on for a double.

After a torturous Wednesday  (according to Lesley the Bloggster yesterday) all these swimmers came back for more! They started off at 5.40am with the fasties led by Alex and Miles. They insisted on including me in the photo!

Then there was the early 6.15 am  group with John S (Rough Diamond), and Dolphin Whisperer with Annie running to catch up, another late 6.15 am group and a large group of 6.30 ers. RD and DW are discussing how they are trying to catch little Sarah up on the Pacific Challenge below.

Remember lovely Graham Kent is leaving on Saturday and drinks are at Hugos, Friday night if you can come along, all welcome! Here he is with our very own Ms Sparkles!

Tomas was back, ready for his 2nd swim after his 18 month break. Go Tomas! Lucky you, gorgeous Pippa is giving you the eye whilst Midge looks on in disgust 😉  (Pippa, you cougar!)

Thanks Nick for helping me with the blog!

Our gorgeous mermaids Jules and Peta…Jules is becoming quite a Blog Tart herself these days 😉

The water was clear again but the fish were fast and shy. Thank you Stephen Coulter for getting these shots of an eagle ray, stingray and forgotwoticudus…

Special request from Rough Diamond for some shots of you all swimming out from Shelly. I ran there especially (after being left behind at the Point trying to photo fish!)

Lots of happy swimmers, drunk on seawater again emerged from the water. Lesley recognised some undies she’d seen somewhere before…

Poor Jules M had a nasty jimble sting just days after ditching the wetsuit but was well looked after by the B&B crew. What a lovely, kind and caring lot you are.

Watch out for this innocuous, gentle – seeming lady though, Little Sarah Abbot. There are rumours she is the biggest drug pusher on the Northern Beaches 😉

In a week that many people faced their fears, left their comfort zones and challenged themselves, Izzy ditched her fins and wetsuit! Special mention must go to Shaun aka Dolphin Whisperer who swam 10 km on Saturday and Little Sarah for swimming 4.5 km without fins or wetsuit yesterday. Keep an eye on that Pacific Challenge guys and keep swimming!

Had to add a cartoon and more of my ‘Reasons to Swim with…’ to end off…Corny I know but we can’t all be witty, sophisticated, brainy or have the best butt!

A few words from Michael yesterday to encourage you to try a Bolderdash.“What a beautiful swim to Queenscliff this morning. The water was like glass and much warmer than the reported 20.5c. The swell was virtually non existent and there were about twenty smiling faces waiting for everyone at the ‘heart’.It really does not get much better than this.”

If you haven’t yet voted for our new global website, iSwimtoo WOWSA Awards, please could you help us out and do so here We’d really appreciate your support.  Thank you

Lip-person, get your ‘wimpy and hesitant’ ass down to Bolderdash tomorrow, I’ll show you a grope you may never recover from…
lovely blog Elaine, you’ve captured the spirit of nuttiness perfectly. And lots of skin, lookin’ hot you summertime ladies!
(Little Sarah, I don’t suppose you can get your hands on some oxycontin? See you round the back of the Steyne on Xmas party night ok?)

My goodness, LS. You ARE a gun competitor. LSA for L1, there you go, I’m all for you getting there 1st as well. Haha
You will get me with the 6k sat, but a lady would hold off as JS and DWSS are serving the community on Sat and can’t do a 6K.
    I’m sure you understand.
(Silently thinking to myself- Shes gonna win) haha

haha Nice Milo. What happened to Nasty Milo??
Wherever he is, tell him to be nice to dolphins. A great man once said “no one ever achieved anything in life by being nasty to dolphins and nippers” hahaha
Not the same great man that said – “there are no rules” another great man.

Oxycontin? Miles darlin’, all you need is oxytocin. Available for free wherever there’s luuurrrve. Which is why I join the swim + coffee + hug sesh every morning 🙂

I think Miles needs some groping lessons from the “King of the Funky Trunks” also known as Big Rick. Super Blogger E-Laine still has a smile on her face after that effort!

I hear dolphins have quite a pleasant nutty taste and go well as a spread over olive ciabatta bread. They need a bit of preparation and need to drain and cure for awhile!

  • john S

    06/12/2012 at 2:50 pm

no but I’d love to hear about it?
How many were you able to eat along the way?
Apparently the smaller Mediterranean Dolphins taste much better than the bottle-nosed ones around here.

  • E-lane

    06/12/2012 at 3:44 pm

Yes but we have to encourage the slow ones;-) Haven’t you come so far so quickly though SS? I heard you could only doggy paddle a few weeks ago 😉
