6/07/2018 – Friday Fun and Frolics!

06/07/20187

Julia, Ian and friends at Shelly beach! Lainey here doing a last minute, quick, fill -in blog for our dedicated Friday blogger Elizabeth who is away. Warmer air temp this morning made the water seem less chilly. A few waves and clear in patches. Your chance to appear on Sunrise on Sunday if you can hang around until 8.50am. Read the message below from JK.

On Sunday 8th July at 8.50am, the channel 9 Today show would like to do a LIVE broadcast featuring the B&B from the normal starting spot.  We will have a spokesperson (TBA) and would like at least 20 pink capers to do the swim at this later time. To encourage swimmers, the 8.50am swim will carry an official tick and can be logged (only one tick per day mind you), so if you fancy either waiting behind after the normal 7am swim or having a sleep in and swimming at 8.50am then you can do either or both.  Enjoy the swim.

My cockatoo photo from yesterday.

Swimmers at Shelly

Cuttlefish sighting off Attracta Rock, close to Shelly

It was great fun coming back through the surf. Here is Louise about to get in to shore!

A photo of a baby Port Jackson Shark from my archives. It arrived at Shelly one morning and could fit on our hand! PJS are back now. They come back when the water hits 18 degrees!

Have a great day folks. Sorry for the short, rather boring blog!

Thanks Victoria. Bloggers get an email when anyone comments and makes us bloggers feel someone is reading. We used to have many more people commenting about the swim. Come on guys! I’ll look up your link Vic x

So not boring! Can’t look at that cocky pic enough and the corso one is just as gorgeous. Thanks to all the bloggers for their mini masterpieces, I love to re-live the swim I’ve just done, or check out what I’ve missed if I couldn’t make it.

Lainey I didn’t realise the bloggers get an email…I look forward to reading the blog, similar to Shelley’s reasons, love to see what I missed if I can’t swim, and even when I do swim I miss plenty. The photos are always great and show what each blogger appreciates on the day…whether it’s critters in the water or the crowds before the swim, at the point, at Shelly, or enjoying a cuppa afterwards. Love the different perspectives that you all add!
