Time for a lightning blog and a Fathers Day quiz (and don’t forget that Fathers get a 10 second start tomorrow so don’t miss it, oh and it’s also Ian’s birthday but I think that’s a secret so don’t tell anyone, but there’ll be cake).
The photos below reflect the swim for 80 swimmers and 2 newbies (one had the biggest flippers I’ve ever seen), who braved the 17.2 degrees in the washing machine water. The first photo is a panorama shot from Manly to Shelley at 6.30 and if it turns out you can just see the early swimmers at the point. Next photo is a bunch going in. Then the table at 6.30 (how do we get the 7 am’ers on that ?). Second to last photo, the heavans opened at 6.55, great timing big feller.
I am away the next 2 Saturdays so am looking for a volunteer to blog for me. I can show you how to lightning blog if you want and it takes about 10 minutes or somebody else can show you the longer version if you prefer. Help out please….

That was quick Lesbubs! Love your second photo John. What a fun swim it was today in the rain with the big uns coming in! If anyone wants to swap and do Wednesday blog, I could change and do Sats. Or if anyone could do Saturday’s blog alternate weeks I could do fortnightly. Ian ‘s birthday tomorrow. Think the cake will be at Bluewater if the benches are too wet. See you then!

Well there I was in a shop in my little Blue Mtns Village when I saw a local acquaintance who does a swim squad thing at the Springwood Aquatic Centre. Thinking I was mental for going “all that way” to Manly for a swim, she recommended Penrith Lakes and somewhere-or-other else for a closer swim. I didn’t even begin explaining that it’s a Manly thing – the combination of beautiful surroundings, ocean vs pool, nice – no gorgeous people and all the other non definables. She just didn’t get it…. And happy fathers day all you dads, and happy birthday to Ian.
