77 Bold & Beautiful swimmers
Michael battled the white water rapids to take the water temperature for us this morning 😉

It’s the last day of winter tomorrow – YEH !!! and the surf and swell is going to be significantly less than today 🙂

Brother and Sister, Terry and Jenny, along with Bev are all very happy to be amongst the large number of swimmers who’ve already qualified for their badges in plenty of time and are now enjoying winter passion swims 😉
It certainly was a swim for the passionate and dedicated this morning.

With some waves and a whole lotta swell.
It didn’t stop Rob and Todd doing the YMCA as they got in…

It’s interesting to see how different people approach the same wave…
Some charge straight at it, others jump over, and some dive deep… check out the foot to the right, below.

Alex raced back from the early Queenscliff swim specially to join us at 7 into Shelly which was lovely, especially for Attracta 🙂

I’ve always wanted to swim with an Orca, a friendly placid Orca that is…

Another fun and friendly swim, with 3 people who battled on for a double.
Don’t forget to keep your eye on the Pacific Challenge to see how far you have swum up the coast, and how you rank against your fellow swimmers…

190 swimmers have now qualified for their 2012 ‘Cold & Beautiful’ badge, plus it’s still in reach for another 7 who must swim tomorrow !! Please click here to make sure you don’t miss out now !
There were another ~520 people who swam at least once this winter, bringing the total number of winter swimmers to well over 700 !! Gosh we’re good 🙂
Winter Badge Ceremony will be held at Whitewater with a $10 brekkie straight after the swim on Sunday 9th Sept ! Everyone is welcome… Bookings are essential though for catering purposes, so please book here asap, thank you.
Safe travels to Michelle S, see you in a month. But, looking forward to following your adventures via your on tour photos in the meantime.

Chris and Julie Cameron-Doe have just returned from taking B&B on tour to Fiji.
Happy birthday to Leonie Atkins today 🙂

Looks like pink is catching on: ‘Swims run in Queensland this coming season by surf life saving clubs will require all swimmers to wear high visibility singlets. Fluoro PINK high visibility singlets. The requirement comes under a rule adopted by Surf Life Saving Queensland and which comes into force in September, intended to enhance competitor safety in events run by surf clubs. Not just ocean swims, but other events, too, such as surf carnivals.’ From http://www.oceanswims.com

Jules, thanks so much for the plug!
Venue has changed to Lvl 17, 383 Kent Street (also Grant Thornton). It will be packed with Swedish women (and some men), so if you want a ticket, be quick: https://swedelink.worldsecuresystems.com/BookingRetrieve.aspx?ID=210443
Would be great to see fellow B&B’ers there 🙂

Good show, Rainer and everyone else who has now qualified.
I read that you now keep up with the snorkellers – one day I may too:-)
We have a 2k ocean race this Sunday – no ocean practice since the last one. Our next swim after that will probably be in a chilly Polish lake – easy to take the pink caps, but not so good with the cameras.
Michelle, have a good trip – we’ll be back about the same time:-))
