30/06/13 June Hurty

30/06/201319

What a week we’ve been having. Constant rain and huge swells, have meant for fun times in the water …and then there’s the J action. Whilst Bold Julia left her big seat, our Jules came back to us, meeting all our newbies bringing her extra Beautiful personality!

“Morning Sydney!”

But what happened today? This was the scene at 7am. A lonesome Jules walking down the catwalk. What has happened? Things have changed….us Sydneysiders are fed up of the rain, and seem to have forgotten to get up today …..

“Phew!!! There you all are!!!”
Come on Jules ….we swim at 7am, EVERY day of the week (not 7.01).

A small group of swimmers turned out for a blustery, wet winter swim. Here’s the Ewok’s.

Some of us arrive using pedal power.

A few strategise about going in through the waves.

June has seen some huge numbers of B&B swimmers, is it all because they want their hands on a Winter Badge?? Nothing will stop swimmers clocking up their swims to reach the magic 20. 690 people are currently on track.

A few smallish waves meet us today.

Brendan prepares for his entry.

Leswee shows us how to ‘Walk like an Egyptian’

And a couple of us jump in at half way.

There’s even more madness in the ranks with all these B&B’ers running around without wetsuits! All in aid of another badge or charity!

Week Six for the Winter Badge starts tomorrow…..20 swims need to happen over seven weeks of winter to gain the elusive badge or badges! The barmy 18.1c today helped to keep the WWW’ers smiling! Yuo have 62 days left and its getting cooler!

At Shelly, some find the most economical  way of keeping warm.

These B&B’ers think it’s warmer upside down!

Jules was overheard telling some Old Wives Tails at Shelly “No really, I used to swim here every day”

Jenny K begged me to place this pic on today’s blog.

This is also the last time Drinky saw his goggles and ‘Big Swim’ pink swim cap. Someone has accidentally walked off with them, if you find them in the bottom of your swim bag…bring them along and return them to Drinky. Please keep him happy and it will stop him trying to steal others like Jenny’s here!
Jules had persuaded enough people that she swims with the Bold & Beautiful that we let her give the “Let’s Go”

Right way up Jules may help!

If you are interested in how far in front of your friends you are in the Winter Badge stakes….then jump online here

And that’s our swim done for the day.

It’s been lovely to see you Jules …fleeting as it is! Wishing you all the luck back over in WA. Big hugs to Michael too.

Oh, Aly, relieved you didn’t make it, because I was concerned about having missed you as I just arrived very late at the brekkie table!
Snorkles, so sorry not to perform for you today, but see you found a few other stars:-)
p.s. Lainey, I took the lovely album for Jules to look at and sign:-)

Snorkles, a clean, charming and innocent blog.
So glad you don’t need to use pee-pee humour like
so many of the other bloggers to get their
    message across!
Careful with overuse on Brenton’s Yak fat.
Your sign-off image shows some rare side effects
that suggests you may be overindulging.
Speak to Brenton or check out http://www.yakfat.com
for the correct application techniques and
    recommended dosage.

You guys are so talented making these rainy mornings so bright and cheerful. Thank you so much for all the wonderful hugs and kisses, I now feel recharged and ready to face semester 2.
I’ve really had the best time seeing you all, in fact it’s just like I’ve never been away. Somethings never change and thankfully due to all ur wonderful personalities and all the hard work of the team of people keeping things running for everyone, the sensational spirit of our special B&B is no different. Well apart from one thing… I’m just not quite sure what you’ve done with our beautiful aquatic marine reserve !? I’ve seen a whole 3 fish and 1 dusky in 4 mornings of swimming !
Thanks again, miss you all heaps, until November when I hope to be back again after my next round of exams 🙂 xxx

In case Pauline’s reading the blog the excuses for my behaviour are:
    1. The devil made me do it!!
    2. I thought I heard someone say “humpback”!

Stephen – thanks for the table plans. I wonder what has happened to James Ley? He booked (and paid) on our table (currently Old Wives) quite some time ago, but his name has disappeared.

Pauline, I think you need to start swimming again soon:-)
Do hope your arm’s recovering and that you’re having just as much fun in China!!

Haha Ian! If I had a dollar for every blog photo showing me in a compromising position with one of our female swimmers, I’d probably by that fancy 8-bedroom house overlooking shelly beach..
    Love Sarah’s uncomfortable smile!

Slow Ian – my new fangled camera picks up ESP from everyone – I can definitely confirm that the thought bubbles attached to the photos in the blog above are definitely yours.
Sorry Pauline, look what happens when you are away. Bubbles run riot!

Well, I said we might become Fan-Bellied Leatherjackets or Weeping Toadies, but it hasn’t happenend yet.

I’ll add that the Yak hat would be most welcome at 6.45am on some of these wintery mornings! Does Brenton have any?

So we’re looking for one male Old Wife in the process of metamorphosising into either a Fan-bellied Leatherjacket or Weeping Toadie. If you could give us a pic of one of these rare morphs-in-action, it might help the search.
Hope to see you there at first light tomorrow – sounds fascinating!
Good luck to the rest of you when time comes for your morph!
