Over 105 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
We had it all this morning, a decent wave to wake everyone up followed by a beautiful swim across the bay which was remarkably smooth considering the swell.

The visibility was great too enabling us to enjoy our marine friends in full view today. Plus a great wave to finish which did take hostage of a few pairs of goggles…

28 swimmers set off early; 22 swimmers for the Ghost Train and 6 for a nice stretch out up to Freshie and back. 5 swimmers also continued on for some double trouble after the regular swim.
Only one more morning before daylight savings ends on Saturday night, so don’t miss the ghost train tomorrow morning… based on popular request we might even do a ghost train badge next year 😉
Conditions permitting, I’m pretty sure Michael will be keen to accompany anyone on a 6km or more swim after the regular swim tomorrow too should anyone be keen ??

There are a few people keen to give this little cross training ago starting this Sunday after the swim, everyone welcome, all levels and all equipment… (at your own risk of course). It will be all very casual, after the swim ease ourselves onto our bikes for a lap (or 4) of North Head, then back down for a leisurely jog around Queensie, Shelly area followed by a well earned brekkie / brunch. You can join in for as much or as little as you like, you can drive your bike up to North Head to start if you choose. The experienced can lap the rest of us so there’s no pressure and best of all, no barriers… so please come and join in the fun and give it a go 🙂
If anyone was wanting to see ‘Of Earth & Sky’ from the Banagarra Dance Theatre at Glenn St Theatre there are only tickets left for Saturday’s performance. If you like dance you’ll love it, they are amazing !!
Glenn St’s next show is the World Premier of ‘Biddies’ showing from 11-28th April !!
Don’t forget to take advantage of B&B’s special discount by mentioning ‘Bold & Beautiful’ when you contact the box office to receive your discounted ticket and a free drink !!
Happy birthday to John Maters and Kirsty Sleep today 🙂
Most of you would be aware of the very sad news that Matthew Barclay, aged 14, tragically lost his life in the Surf Life Saving National Championships in Qld on Wednesday. Bold & Beautiful would like to send their condolescences with a wreath to his family. If you would like to contribute to this please could you let me know asap, thank you.

Will the Ghost Train be shunted out onto a wintery siding by daylight savings?
The Northern Line made it to Freshie this morning, though we lost two weary riders at Queensie. Here are the stoker boys having smoko at Freshie.

Wow!!! Nearly 30 participants for the early swim. That is amaaazing. AND I noticed from the photo, that there were cardboard cut outs of Anna A and Sam E, which had been dropped in at Shelly the evening before. It almost had me fooled into thinking they swam.
Good try girls!

What fun it was today, even going from half-way our grey suited friends were all there to greet us as we entered. Just a little reminder if anyone is after a raffle ticket I`ll be at Manly Wine after the swim tomorrow and Sunday. (if not sure what the tickets are about check out the blog on 23/03/12)

Ghost train was really working today, very very dark. Thought I was coming back on the giant slide, accidentally jumped on the roller coaster instead.

I am totally interested in the 6k BUT I have a (fully) sick sore throat – I made it worse by swimming this morning – so I expect I will pass tomorrow – thats a shame as I was really looking forward to it ;-(

Just do it. Swimming cures sore throats – its a well known medical fact.
