No where of course…

When I tell people that I swim in the ocean during Winter, they look at me strangly and tell me I must be crazy.
Early last year I never imagined that I would be doing this. I used to jog along the promenade and watch the swimmers swim across to shelly in the morning, thinking how beautiful and serene it looked. Coming from a swimming background and had injured feet which gave me the push that I needed.
It was time take the plunge literally and join the group. It was always on my bucket list of things to do and now that I have joined, I have become addicted to the Scenery, comradery and challenge of each day never knowing what the weather will bring. I wish that I had started earlier.
They say a picture tells a thousand words so I have put together a few of my favourite sunrises and think to myself, the people who are not doing the swim must be the crazy ones.
While they are sleeping in we are taking in the best of what nature has to offer.

And some of the Comradery. Smiles to be had all round.

So I stated earlier one of my reasons for joining up with the B&B Crew.
Let’s share the love and start by telling everyong what your motivation was for dragging yourself out of bed and starting it with a swim in the ocean?

Shaun taking in the best part of the day and analysing the surf conditions.

Jenny & Catriona looking a little nervous heading into the water.

Even while travelling he still manages to make it into the blog. Rainer also decided to take a leap out of the pool and photo bomb us.

Cara, Sorry not sure of your name. Let me know if it is you & Vanessa

Ewwww, someone forgot to tidy themselves up before the swim this morning. Guess who?

There was to be huge swell we today. There was plenty of opportunity to catch some fantastic waves.. as seen below of Nick taking some time to surf the waves (photos by stephen Coulter)

Did you get any good waves today?

Awesome job Renae!
You forgot to set your camera to “No Rainers”
OK let’s have a charity event for Lesley so she can afford a razor (or a trip to the beautician)
Ideas anyone?

Fantastic blog Renae. I love hearing about how people started doing these swims and how much enjoyment they get from the whole experience. I am just gobsmacked with the sunrises and natural beauty of Manly early morning too! Love your photo montages! Thank you for becoming a B&B blogger! You rock!

Great pics today Renae, especially the group of sunrise shots. Good swimming conditions today once out past the point. It was a case of a quick sprint out during a lull between sets.

Oh Rainer!
I started swimming here because salt is so much better than chlorine. But the reasons for keeping on swimming here are much more than that!

Great blog and pic’s Renae, only just recovering from those ‘monster’ waves – am I the only one who wanted to go home at around 7:05am while beining pounded by the set?
BnB was also on my bucket list, swimming it alone, I would always scare myself half to death. It so much more fun doing it with BnB, and one last reason – Sunrises! Rena, girl in the middle ismy mate Kate Martin.

Fantastic blog Renae.
I took up ocean swimming because I heard seaweed enzymes were a great eye serum infusion for a dark circle corrector, also a non acidic daily peel applicator.
I embraced this technology with obvious fantastic results.
While on a daily treatment I was swimming from Shelly a few times, one summer, and I kept bumping into 120 odd bits of pink plastic coming the other way.
Can’t beat them, I joined you all for our daily spa.

Thank you to everyone for your king messages. Sorry I haven’t replied to all, but with moving house it has kept me away from computer. Probably a good thing. See you all on Tuesday…
