Over 150 Bold & Beautiful swimmers
gather for a calm swim amongst a cloudy back drop.

with plenty of mixed reactions to the water temperature. Some scream with excitement (click on the picture to blow it up full size and you’ll see what I mean 😉 )

Others, what water ?

Some found it a little chilly

others plain happy

and some, well it’s just sheer bliss

One of our 11 first time swimmers commented as she gathered with us all
at the point this morning that this isn’t a swim, it’s a cocktail party. True 🙂
You can see why too, check out this great panorama of pink caps at the point.

and lots of happy faces at Shelly.

Craig and Rob were particularly happy to have their friend Michael join us for his first swim

and Angela and Paul were happy to be children free for the morning 😉

Maria N was excited to be celebrating her niece’s birthday with her by swimming with us from Shelly to Manly 🙂 Happy birthday !

Gosh we look good 🙂

Andrew D’s feeling pretty proud of himself and rightly so too, he’s done 31 swims in a row and Francois’ done 7. They’ll be climbing the Pacific Challenge Ladder 🙂
Michael Crawford was the lone 6.30 swimmer to Shelly this morning. 20
people continued on to enjoy a double lap and 5 of those tripled.
All ready for the launch of the Bolderdash tomorrow morning, 5.50am ! What the positions change on the Pacific Challenge now 🙂
Brekkie was extra special this morning too as John and Jack very kindly shared their pecan pie that they successfully bid for at our Trivia Night, courtesy of James G. Thanks guys, it was divine !

Good luck to all our triathletes who are taking part in the 70.3, Half Ironman at Port Macquarie Today !! Rob wasn’t feeling so well so thought he better get a photo at the finish line yesterday just in case… 😉

But of course his beautiful wife, Emer outdid him, there in her cossie 🙂

Look forward to the real finish line photos with medals later today. Good luck guys, I’m sure you’ll smash it.
Terry McJ had a crab swim along side him during our swim yesterday morning, only thing was it obviously wasn’t given a proper induction as he was swimming the wrong way, he was heading off to Fairy Bower.
Terry was so blown away to see a big crab swimming on the surface he went home and researched it and found this reference: “The thought of a crab that swims might seem absurd, particularly with those flimsy-looking legs they have, but the aptly named blue swimmer crab does exactly that. With powerful, paddle-shaped back legs, blue swimmer crabs can lift off the bottom of the ocean and propel themselves through the water with surprising agility. And just as other crabs scurry sideways, blue swimmers swim sideways, as it is the fastest and most efficient way for them to move.” Interesting hey !
Happy birthday to Jade Harkness today 🙂

It was like a party today, from the moment of arriving at the surf club til the end of breakfast, with a lovely, leisurely ‘double’ in between.
Thx to John Bond for leading these doubles with lots of encouragement – I’m aiming to get to the ‘proper’ point for the turnaround in due course:-)
Look forward to the party tomorrow – starting 5.50 a.m. RAINER & all!!

Okay, okay.. I’ve set the alarm to 5:20am. Won’t be a bolder ‘dash’ for me though. Promise me we’ll take it slow. I will be half asleep!!
