28/08/2013 – Here we go!!

28/08/201313

When I saw this lot walking in I thought perhaps I was late for the normal swim!! – but it was the 6.30am’ers! All 45+ of them!! They might need their own sign in sheets and blog soon! 😀

There’s a new dog in town! He aint the usual sort we ‘ave round  here… he looked a bit shocked by it all – especially these 2 carrying on!

UNBELIEVABLE! the water temp is 18.1!! Which means you can all take your wetsuits off again yeah??

Now THIS is the 7am-ers heading in…

At Shelly – strange brown water!!!

Off they go…

Look carefully… notice as we leave Shelly we create ripples on the flat water…whilst up ahead it’s still flat..

A Stingaree mid flight!!

Flutey fish…

SO CALM!!

Even a grafitti artist is affected by our beautiful spot!

Not far to go now….

Strange looking pigeon?! 😉

Sigh…nice sunny rest after another great swim

    Great blog Lesbubs.
Sorry to hear of Nurse J’s misfortune in breaking a bone in her toe.
For those of you who don’t know, she is such a humble member of our group that she doesn’t want it made public. NJ will be out of the water for a few weeks.
Our hero was strutting along the East Esplanade after picking up some papers, giving some healthy treats to some local kids and gardening tips to the lady in number 43 when she noticed a truck heading for an elderly couple. Not thinking of her own safety, she dived knocking the elderly couple to safety and was clipped on the big toe.
I guess it was the bold training that kicked in.
Best wishes from all of us and you could come down for the sandy crunches if you need a tune up NursyJ

Nice shots of the calm water Lesley looks very inviting.
Superb conditions for ocean swimming with the bright sunshine and warmer water today.
The water continues to be so clear you leave the point.

    Leslegs a wonderful blog.
I’m wondering at a deep disturbing emotional level, the inferences that you are making with your sign-off image in the body pose that you are in whilst immersed in liquid in that womb shaped image??
And Nurse J, we know you as a quiet humble and shy person, but others will speak out in your place about your very very brave act in saving that elderly couple and putting your own life at risk in the process!
I feel lucky to have seen you in action and to be able to call you a friend.
    congratulations!
Australian of The Year I say.

Glenn Shea from the Vet. School confirmed the turtle ID: “Yes, it’s a green turtle (Chelonia mydas)”.
    Great spotting, Snorkles!

Great blog Bubbles. Love the shell-shocked poodle!
Missed this morning as we had the plumber in at 7:30, fixing a leak in the bathroom. Real shame, as it looked like the perfect morning to go sans-wetsuit again!
I’ll be back tarting for Elaine’s blog tomorrow..

Can’t believe you shared that story, especially when not all of it is true.
I broke the 5th metatarsal, not my big toe 😉

    I’m so sorry Nurse J.
Excuse my naivety. As a highly skilled health professional myself (bronze medalian)
I thought It would be better if I spoke in leymans terms so the world can know of your sacrifice !!
I am honoured to be able to share your story with the world.
    I feel like an apostle.

    Interesting question John
I’m just wondering who is deeply disturbed?
To me it look more like a Lady Gaga egg ready to be carried into the bluewater.
