I’ve been blogging on Thursdays for a whole year now and Thursdays really have been consistently sunny, sparkling and usually the warmest and calmest swim of the week. I really have been lucky. And how lucky are we to have discovered this amazing daily activity, a swim with the Pink Caps, the Bolds…The Bold and Beautifullers…165 of us had our dose of Vitamin Sea today!
It’s a short blog I’m afraid as the battery died on my camera and I’ve got a bit of ‘Writer’s Block’ after being dragged along to The Boatshed last night 😉 Another gorgeous sunrise over our piece of paradise…
Heather from Georgia USA, joined us today for a ‘Splash and Dash’.
The water was up to 20.6 degrees and air temp almost up to that too. Calm seas and clear water.
Elaine Kindred (in the middle) is looking for volunteers to help out with the Coastrek Challenge for the Fred Hollows foundation on Feb 28th. Please help out if you can. (See bottom of blog for more details.) Cath Coleman, her sister, Renae and I are doing the 50 km treck and will be selling muffins to help with our fundraising soon after the swim. Such a good cause, please get behind us!
Quite a bit of sea life to be seen today. The old wives are back, they hang out about 100 metres from the Halfway steps and are usually quite deep. Here they are with a puffer fish and below that goat fish and a crimson banded wrasse.
A few wobbegongs have been spotted in the weed off Shelly too. This one decided to swim up as I dove down so got a bit too close for comfort!
Isn’t it just wonderful catching a glimpse of these blue gropers swimming underneath you!
Shelly beach was bathed in sunshine on this soon- to- be Summer morning…
Then it was a run back to get my iphone and catch some photos of you arriving back at The Surf Club. Shaun the teacher pipped Tim, Scotty, Richard and Dave to the post today!
Sarah finds a giant pair of holey mens undies!
Have a great day folks! Simon will be the blogger next Thursday as we are off to Bali for a week!

Yeh Elaine.. you were dragging poor Heather to the Boatshed at 9:15… isn’t that about 3 hours too early??
What’s up with that?

Hmmm, who was the dragger and who was the draggee? Our blogger seemed to be the one doing most of the dragging!

Lainey, just your idea of a “short blog” – action-packed with goodies as usual!
That wobbe looks like he came very close:-)
Congratulations to Jazzy on her great acheivement – 100K! Can’t wait to see you and Laura for a hug and brekkie one day very soon:-)
Also, congrats to Ted on his milestone – end of radiotherapy treatments – what a warrior, swimming almost every morning during his marathon of sessions! Hope to also catch up with you and more with LL before your well-deserved trip!

Great hangover blog Elaine!
Where are Stephen’s and Krystyna’s BnB on Tour photos from NYC? Did I miss them? They seem to post a photo of every meal they have.. but not enough time for a quick pink cap selfie at Times Square??

Great blog Elaine. On a minor point, from photo #12,I pipped Richard to the beach with the help of his slip stream, a wave at the end and my new Zoot suit.

I thought the race was only to the point Simon. Wouldn’t have ease up at the end to let you Zoot past me had I known!
