80 Bold & Beautiful swimmers were glad they got up early this morning, as they would have witnessed the most spectacular dawn sky as they made their way to our favourite corner of the world.

10 brave swimmers set off at 6.10 am for the last official Bolderdash swim of Summer with Inez and Drinky running behind to catch them up. They reported challenging swimming conditions with waves breaking way out where the sea is usually fairly flat. The glows of sunrise warmed their spirits though and they soldiered on. A swim to remember that one!

It is one of our VIP swimmers (we are ALL VIP swimmers!), Bruce Baird’s birthday today and he seems to crop up in nearly every photo with his lovely daughter, Julia. Who was the cute little boy eating the hot cross bun in the foreground btw?

We make our way down the ramp and in to the water, no maggots or blueys today!

And a new CanToo swimmer. Welcome Leanne!

There are a few gasps as the water temp has dropped 2 degrees. Is it really 21 degrees John 007? How do (some of us) manage without wetsuits in Winter? A few waves to wake us up!Lovely to see Tomas back swimming. Renae might be wishing she hadn’t decided on the bikini today.

The Pinkies have come prepared for cooler seas.

The water still isn’t clear so we don’t see the usual abundance of fish swimming out to The Point but why do we want to look below the water when we can see that beautiful sky above it!

Yes, we sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Mr Baird at Shelly and he calls the ‘Let’s Go!’

It was exciting coming back through the surf. Some people caught waves in from way out, others let the wave carry them high then dipped out of being taken and waited for the big sets of waves to stop before they made their way in. Annie Yay is just getting a bit more confident with the surf.

Another great swim for the last day of Summer…Autumn swims can be amazing with loads of marine life. The cuttlefish come back in Autumn. Here’s a reminder.

That one was seen a lot last year in our own Cabbage Tree Bay.

It is great to go for breakfast at Bluewater Cafe after the swim. Everyone welcome, only $10 for brekkie and coffee. Little Sarah, Storchy, Drinky and Simon joined us to tell us about their bolderdash swim. They got pounded apparantly. Well done guys!

Poor Inez kissed a jimble again! Don’t let it put you off Newbies. Inez and Lips always snog jimbles and they just come back swimming the next day!
No cartoons today. Back next week!
See you for some awesome Autumn swims!!

Great pics of that fabulous sunrise, Elaine! It was beautiful in the water today, rolling over that little swell.

Yes, super pics, Lainey – especially the one of the warriors heading off into the sunrise. You can see how washed out I was afterwards in the boldie-recounting pic at Bluewater. The guys remain crystal clear:-))
You’ve got that speech bubble app nailed too – thanks to Lesbutt for introducing that great addition to the blogs:-))

Great pics especially the first two sunrise shots.
For those planning to do the 6k,10k swims this Saturday – please meet at the surf club beforehand so that the courses can be finalised.

All you have to do is go to breakfast with your B n B mates, hold a HOT pot of tea to the affected lip for the time it takes to catch up on the goss (at least an hour) and swelling is gone by lunchtime. Honest. And yes, I will be back for 10km on Saturday.

I like to think of it that you are ‘an angel bathed in a sea of light’ on that Boldie recounting pic LSA! You are one of the ‘angels’ of the B&B looking after and caring about everyone. I love the pic of you Rough Diamond and Sarah going off in to the sunset.No-one has guessed the butt…

And separately, Mr Storch and Mr Drinkwater are absolute gentlemen, they made sure the ladies made it through the waves and back home again safely. Thanks guys! We love you. Wouldn’t be surprised if you got a few extra ks for the P. C. , but only if triad queen notices.

Watch it Inez. Under rule 43a – inciting un-swum Km’s incurres a 45km penalty.
Ill let you off today for previous integrity examples and a jimble swim. 🙂

Great blog action girl!!!
I missed your marine animal comments this week as an added bonus.
You did a great job LL
I was trying to think of another comment for your speech bubble but you were spot on.
That is exactly what Sash would have said. Haha
Inez, absolutely correct on the gentlemen call.

Oh, thank you, that sounds better than my version:-) I thought we went off into the sunrise, but maybe it seemed like sunrise to you as you’d been out so early:-)
I thought it a bit unfair to claim the guess-the-butt coffee, seeing as you’d whispered the answer to me already:-) So will leave to the others. Surely it couldn’t be a battered bolderdashian??? That’s a clue!

Yes, great job guys:-)
I did see Drinky managed to sneak in a few extra ks even though he swam the same course and used a fraction of the energy we ladies used….but he paid up by way of holding my hand through the rip, so will let that pass:-))

May I approach the bench. I only said I wouldn’t be surprised if there were extra km appearing. What sort of dystopian state is it where it is a crime not to be surprised?
