Lesbubbles reporting for blog duty today. Supported by ghostwriter Lips, the creative mind behind most of my better blog posts and pick-up lines over the past 2 years..
But before we get into dissecting my love life, let’s cover today’s swim.
What a morning! It felt like spring had sprung early this year. No wonder 140 swimmers queued up to get a ticket for today’s 7am swim, including 2 newbies!
This is what it looked like just before sunrise..
Elizabeth, LSA, and Derek setting off as the newly formed (highly illegal) 6:55am splinter group. A breakaway faction of the grassroots movement formerly known as ‘The 6:59ers’.
Izzy and John discussing winter swimwear…
The White family camped outside the surf club since yesterday afternoon. It paid off. Another gorgeous family blog photo in the bag. Tick!
Family blog tarting has become something of a ‘thing’ these days. Here’s Mark and his gorgeous 2 daughters..
Jalna was back after long absence. Her hair looked beautiful.
And it wouldn’t be a Lesbubbles blog without a couple of dogs. Love the tongue action of dog#1.
Juno.. he’s a professional. The camera loves him.
Drinky still basking in the glory of yesterday’s 1000k swim. To honour this milestone, he treated himself to a new pair of swimming trunks. Unlike his speedos, the new trunks require a concious ‘left vs right’ decision. Watch this space as we establish his preferences over the next few weeks..
Never an awkward moment with Shaun..
And just as we were about to head out I spotted him again.. Sterling. And I knew, today was the day. I tried to remember the best pick-up lines Lips had taught me over the years and made a concious decision to approach him after the swim at Manly Wine..
But first there was a swim to be completed. Walking in, the water felt somewhat cooler. Which was confirmed by John’s temperature reading of 16.5 degrees.
I had goggle problems. Having left my own goggles at home, Drinks kindly gave me his pair this morning. Alas, having a face half the size of Drinks, the goggles leaked on both sides and I was virtually blind for most of the swim. Thanks for nothing Drinks!!
Great to see Gab back after her nose job and Jalna back after her bout of German Man-Flu!
Fish photos. With visibility back to Cabbage Tree Bay standards, there was plenty to see today. I managed to get this flathead.
At Shelly – Happy Birthday John…
And more fish..
On my return to the club, Mark was hoping to impress me with his ‘goods’..
But I was on a mission called ‘Sterling’.
Now, single ladies of Manly, pay attention. This is how it’s done.
Step #1: Approach casually from behind.
Step #2: Play it cool and wait for your moment..
Step #3: Go for the ‘surprise’ hug – preferrably from behind.
Step #4: Withdraw and settle for breakfast with Storchy.
Have a great Sunday!
Signing off,
Lesbubbles and sidekick Lips..

Got something to say?
Why not give flight (or fins) to your creative side – join the B&B blog team!!! See Ian, JK or Mary after the swim. If Lesley can do it, everyone can do it!
Week 9 of the Winter Badge season.

Staying safe
There may not be any waves just at the moment, but are you prepared for their return? Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! Such fab conditions for a Sunday swim!! Very annoyed to have acquired a dose of nasty Man-Flu which is keeping me out of the water.
Congrats Drinks on cracking the 1k mark.

Best blog ever, Lesbubbs….. I’m sure Lainey will soon help you with the pick-up lines if you’ve exhausted all Lips’ creative inspiration….
Have you tried the “have I told you about the benefits of winter swimming without a wetsuit yet?”…. Nah, a turn-off for the smart guys like Sterling who know the benefits of wetsuits!
So glad you’re going to be a regular weekend blogger – no one else has your style:)

When Izzy and were leaving the sea, a group of extraordinary swimmers were entering to swim north including some Channel swimmers and Anna who swam yesterday from watsons bay to la peruse – yes 25 km!!! And then to relax and recover, a swim today. Where to? Such impressive swimmers.

Great conditions this morning with that clear sky even with the water a bit on the chilly side. The forecast is for more sunny weather for next week.

Was that a dead seal at Shelly? Which a kindly Pink Cap moved and then rolled to see if it could be assisted. Bruce R wittily suggested todays blog could be called The Dead Seal Scrolls.
Such a magnificent beginning to a wonderful day. One of the early highlights was seeing Storchy basking sans shirt & then Midge, figuring he must be hot, assisting him with his cool down via a glass of cold water!
Too too sad that Jane, LSA & Jon will be away for a while but travel safe and have fun! You will all be missed X

Thanks Zab (?:/)…. yes hilarious when Midge threw the glass of cold water into Manly Wine at Storchy…. just hope the two of them don’t get us all banned:-) I’ve been enjoying the brekkies there as much as the swims….
We’ll all be back before you know it…. already excited about the bolderdashes…hmm.. boldercrawls… Hopefully, Lainey will be lining up all my different partners!
