27/05/2014 – Just another perfect swim

27/05/20147

Weather report was for another summerish day – expected high of 28 (yes it is just 4 days until winter), no rain, but light cloud cover.

The 111 or so swimmers who turned up today were not disappointed.

It was lovely to see a few old regulars this morning.

With the water temp a comfortable 20.8 degrees, struggling into wetsuits is not really necessary.  However, Jeff assures me that it does make you go faster.

The very necessary dog photo.

And we had waves!!

GoPro Man

No fear facing the waves,

Just cooler and wetter than you think!

More matching fins

And goggles.

Waves were rolling in at the point, and then there was rather a strong current crossing the bay.  A very good workout!  That must have been why it was all calm at Shelly.

With no birthdays or doubles, so the race back to Manly was on as soon as the let’s go was called.

The swell has reduced the visibility so the only fish sighting was of the Dusky Whalers roaming the sea bed.  How quickly these exotic creatures have become every day. . .

Then the real action kicked in.  The wit and repartee at the benches is as invigorating as crashing through the waves. And, you just don’t want to leave.

Well there we are another spectacular Tuesday swim.  Let’s do it again tomorrow.  And thank you to Stephen Coulter for the additional photos.

Thanks Mary. Tuesdays wouldn’t be the same without you.
    And welcome back Ted!
Question for management – does a cling wrapped leg still qualify for WWW badge?

The rules state that not more than 15% of the limb may be encased in clingwrap. Definitely no cling wrap to the groin area – this is an immediate disqualification.

    I’m asking for a friend..
From what I could see it was just a section. Just above the ankle area. Definitely not the groin area from what I could tell.
