26/12/2018 – Almost 10 Years of The B&B!

26/12/20186

Yes tomorrow, 27th December will mark 10 years since this amazing swim group began back in 2008! Join us with a little plate of something to pass around. Let’s all mingle a bit after the swim and wish each other ‘Happy Birthday’ in customary B&B friendliness, warmth and inclusivity. The wonderful Ian and Pauline will be up the coast unfortunately but Management have requested for us to wait at The Point in a tight bunch for a photo! Happy Christmas time everyone. It’s been wonderful seeing everyone bring along family and friends and dress in chrissy attire. I reckon there were 800 swimmers yesterday. Today was a bit quieter, probably around 480!

We’ve got some big hearted people in this group… Michael above, opens up his home for ‘Waifs and Strays’ on Christmas Day evening. Richard was a bit scared to go as the ratio men to women was 1 -10!

The water’s 21.5 today but a bit rougher with a strong rip. Remember to keep wide coming in on day’s like this guys.

Here’s Sam and friend heading out!

Daphne was one of Michael’s ‘waifs’ last night but here she is loving her Vitamin Sea!

Simon and Bruce looking very fit this morning

This was Shelly Beach at 7.17am. Relatively quiet compared to the last 2 days!

Swimmers at Shelly. Santa with Jen and Izzy 🙂

This one of Cheryl and family was taken yesterday. Just love those Santa rashies!

More Santa rashies from yesterday, Stacey and friend!

Santas going in on Christmas Day!

It was pretty murky again today so no fishy photos so I’m including some of my best photos of our amazing marine creatures complete with Santa hats. (Thanks Michael for putting those on!)

Hope everyone got back through the strong rip today OK. Have a great day folks and see you tomorrow for birthday celebrations!

Stats

480 swimmers
48 newbies
21.5 degrees

Management request  – Thursday (27 December) marks the 10th anniversary of the B&Bs and some commemorative photos at the Point would be great. So if everyone could wait at the point for the let’s go that would be great. And if anyone could get some photos from the path above that would also be marvelous.

love Lainey (with Freddie on a sup!)
