26/03/2016 – Weather report – the BEST day of the weekend

26/03/201612

Heading down the hill the weather report was recommending to get out and about today as it was going to be the very best day of the Easter break.

Looking at the gathering under the tree, it appears there were at least 310 other people who were of a similar mind!  A huge turn out for today’s swim. Ed was there – he is aiming to reach 500km by next Saturday!

As colourful as a collection of Easter Eggs, the B&B swimmers showed they are not afraid of colour. Just add a smile as the perfect accessory.

Ian and Anne were flat out signing on the new swimmers.

Beautiful conditions! The water is warm at 23 degrees, just a few gentle waves but mostly calm.

Fun with Jane and John – these two are stalwarts of the squad.  Jane can name the most obscure of fish, and John is the fearless leader of the long swims.  I hear he was looking for buddies to do a triple this morning.

. . . there is always one clown in the bunch!

Sterling brought a friend today.  You can pick the newbies – they haven’t realised that B&B’ers embrace crazy weather and the blog camera.

And last but not least – Max and Ian selflessly making sure everyone was safely down the ramp before the they head out to the point.

A few shots from the walkway. Ian often says that you can see the B&B from space. I would suggest you might also be able to hear the squad as everyone gathers at the point.

A familiar A team entering at half way.

Just a reminder about the danger of leaving Shelly early – you do run into the oncoming swimmers!!

Watching over Shelly and Shelley, was the beautiful Easter moon.

Remarkable what a full moon will make normally sensible people do.

Rainer in search of a double buddy.

And the amazing Wilf!  Still doing triathlons.  Such an inspiration.

Sunrise through the clouds – just one more week of daylight saving. Who else is struggling with these dark morning swims?

A bunch of newbies from North Steyne joined us today.  Some were comfortable with a one-way swim. . .

. . others went on to do the full swim.

A significant part of the swim ritual is the apres swim coffee.  Today I had the delight of being first to the hole in the wall cafe.

even managed to beat the A team!!

See!  Even Molly enjoys a coffee after patiently waiting for Lee to finish her swim.

A LOST PROPERTY ANNOUNCEMENT!

Brian left his blue fins and black goggles (or was that black fins and blue goggles), on the wall after yesterday’s swim.  Did anyone find them???

Have a wonderful Saturday.

Mary

Mary, great Blog on a great day !
    Love the photographs.
I lost a blue/red swim fin / flipper near water’s edge and searched for 15 minutes in vain, probably out in deep water now.
I will now swim with a limp.
May all your eggs be chocolate …………

‘Sunrise Through The Clouds’ – WOW!
Brilliant photos Mary. I successfully bullied both Marco and Lesbubbles into doing a double. Against their wills and better judgment. Gotta love weak-minded swimmers. Mua-ha-ha-ha-ha!
