Over 125 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
The divine conditions of yesterday are unfortunately exactly that, yesterday… whilst today wasn’t comparable it sure started with a magnificent sunrise and a rainbow. In case you missed it you can enjoy it here thanks to Gaetan’s superb photos !
It seems that we were the subject of the day for some photography group this morning too as there must have been at least 10 photographers lined up along the shore snapping away as we all entered the water.
It was a great swim with no stingers and a few bumps en-route to keep it interesting. We were also joined by a graceful Eagle Ray half way across.
Congraultations to Caleb who swam his first swim this morning too aged 10 🙂

The highlight of the morning was definitely beautiful Sydney joining us for brekkie 🙂 We have to make the most of Sydney as her Mum and Dad are taking her back to the USA in 3 weeks 🙁
Alex, Cae, Gaetan and James braved continuing on for a 6km swim up to Freshie and they weren’t so lucky as Alex and Gaetan both got stung at Queenscliff.
In case you missed the comments yesterday afternoon, congratulations to Ben and Brendan who both successfully complete their solo Rottnest Channel swim, great effort and very well done ! As you can see below James wrote each of their names and times in the sand and photographed them at sunrise this morning. Very cool 🙂
Enjoy these photos below from Simon too, the first one from today, the others from yesterday.
If you were planning on watching The Shark Harbour documentary it’s only on iView for 2 more days.
Happy birthday to Anita Keelan today 🙂
Two of our swimmers, Maria Mansur and Jen Chritchley are participating in the 20/twenty challenge on 18th March to raise funds for Cerebral Palsy Alliance, the money goes straight to buying mobility aids. So if you would like to sponsor them and help raise funds for this great cause please click here

Congratulations Ben and Brendan, fabulous effort.
Welcome back Neil, sorry I couldn’t join you for the 6km swim. Promise I’ll do it next summer.
Can’t believe I missed the Mankini. Am very busy here in Mystery Bay, have a 6ft python living 3m from our tent. Not sure if he’s yawning or sizing me up to swallow.
Well done to the 6km & 10km swimmer- so jealous. Will sew your badges when the time comes.

Lazarus [my thermometer- the accurate one!] has been revived with a new battery and some salt water detoxification. So you can look forward to some more on the spot readings for a while.
The other thermometer reads a couple of degrees lower – so I’ll save that for winter when we want to know that it was REALLY 12 degrees!
We’ll still have trouble outdoing the Balmoral thermometer which reads about 5 degrees under the real reading! Still we’ll be in there with a chance this year.

Thanks everyone for all your support. Compared to last year the conditions were much better and I had a relatively trouble free swim. Special thanks to Collie for all his advice “it’s just a roller-coaster” was my mantra. Thanks to Stephen, I have a record of the swim which is at http://connect.garmin.com/activity/152625204
Looking forward to catching up with you in a week or so.

Great effort B&B (Spooky eh) on your Rotto conquests!
How about we make a pink group assault on the West next year?
Any takers? I know Richard and Evan are.
We have exactly 1yr to plan and practice (leap year and all)
Did it in 2010 and One of the best things I’ve ever done.
I am keen and have a leave pass from the Mrs.
