2/5/14 – How Good Was That!

02/05/201420

“How good was that!”

That’s what we were hearing over and over as we dried off and got ready for breakfast.

The water’s cleared up – it’s nice and flat, and the sea life has really kicked off this week!

The southerly swell is set to continue for the next few days, so make the most of the flat conditions while you can!

What was the theme for booty this week Annie?

Not all people swim – here’s one of them now -earning his daily coffee

There’s been too many blogs without a shower scene – thanks Nic 😉

It’s getting a little nippy now – this is the standard morning ensemble modelled by Elaine

Sheepskin and rubber – go so well together…

Huwey’s trivia team on tuesday night are called the “Blue Gropers” (note the spelling)

All of Vicki’s peeps were here – some even from the “dark side”

Just that tme of year where the Sun is at the right angle to bathe us all in sunrise as we walk down…

Here’s the Spaniard – He’s offered to let us in on his little secret with the ladies (see next pic)

Elaine correctly executing all the right factors in a successful blog tart bomb…

These were the conditions on the point – probably the clearest for at least 2 months..

There were Supermodels at Shelley…

…and a LOT of underwater action – let’s start with a Spangled Emporer….

These guys can change their colour to suit their background and mood – just like The Spaniard

Squid in near the beach..

So many small fish..

Another Zoanthid colony over near the beach at Halfway…

And the one thing everyone has been talking about the last couple of days..

Look who is back in numbers!

This cuttlefish I haven’t seen before – looks like he’s met a dusky or two as he’s missing some tentacles…

and here he is again – some one – hiding under one of the big white rocks…

Amazing morning –  time for you know what….

Stats:

Swimmers: 112

Newbs: 9

Water temp: 21.7c

Have a great weekend! Nick D

THE SHITBOX RALLY – YOU’RE DOING WHAT?!

The Shitbox Rally is an event to support the Cancer Council NSW.  Each year up to 250 competitors, who must raise a minimum of $4000 to enter, participate in a car rally taking in some of the most spectacular routes around and across Australia.  . This year the event starts in Perth on 30th May and ends 6 days later in Darwin (if they get there!!!). Another condition is that the car must in every sense be a “Shitbox” costing the team less than $1000!  At the end of the event the cars are auctioned to further support the fundraising for the Cancer Council.

It is a challenge that Tim Slessor of team “A Pom and a Kiwi” and regular B&B swimmer is prepared to take on but he needs your help to raise the funds to qualify then make the 8500 km dash across Australia to be on the start line at the end of May!  If you can give just $2 (although more would be welcome) he can make it.  To donate click here.

Trivia Night pretty much sold out!!

There might be a random ticket or two if you are lucky.  So, if you want tickets – and haven’t booked, or have booked (and paid) but now can not attend, please send Ian an email at ugogoyo@gmail.com (copy and paste the address ‘cause this is not a link).

This year we will be joined by the Royal Far West who will be assisting in fundraising for the event, and will receive part of the funds raised on the night.
