An old skool Saturday for the hard core B&B – we woke up to a chilly, dark and wet morning. It enticed 104 core Bold Beautiful out to model their hard earnt skills and badges – not a newbie to be seen!
The surf and rips had built and JK advised the half way option – some made their opinion known…
The surging waves were an inspiring sight…
Some great photos of the battle out were being captured by some of the few brave B&B taking on the rip
There appeared to be dissent amongst some of the older and wiser, hmmphh Jane was heard to mutter..woosses said Izzi. Dr Cathy couldn’t help but agree.
It was but a splash to paraphrase Monty Python,
That got everyone swimming…
Visibility was limited…
Better above water as we passed the set of Dead Calm
Not everyone was happy about only being allowed to swim back to Half Way
But after a quick Tooheys, the smiles were back and we headed off
The swell was rising and JK’s advice was starting to look wiser..
A brief stop to try out the self portrait feature and ensure a blog tart appearance..
Anna was waiting, “Please vote for my photo as photo of the week” as we swam in,
Well Anna, it worked – here is Anna’s photo from yesterday selected as photo of the week!
The security guards were there to protect Anna from being mobbed,
The surf was bigger than when we left generating intense conversation
Dramatic scenes as a handfull of brave swimmers emerged triumphant (and some more than slightly relieved)
Sparkles and Fifi proved the most beautiful of the bold…
Turbo was impressed
John Bond was John Bond
Another great swim and Blue Water breakfast.

Staying safe
While there has been little wave action to test the surf skills, you never know when the sea will show its turbulent side. Stay safe by knowing how to read the signs with these water safety tips courtesy of champion Ironman Craig ‘Riddo’ Riddington. It’s a great read and can help keep you safe in the surf. Have Fun!
